Established in 1999, U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University is located in Allahabad. Formed under U.P University Act 1999, the university is approved by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). It offers several UG and PG programmes in multiple specializations. Other than this, it also offers Diploma courses in a number of areas. The MBA programme of the university is provided in 4 areas of specialisations.

Admissions 

· Admission to all the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes depends on the merit in the pre-qualifying examination.

· Those who are applying for admission into Bachelor of Education course have to pass an entrance test conducted by the university.

· Students who have passed any National level exam like CMAT/CAT/XAT are not obligated to meet the criteria of the entrance exam.

Other than this, for candidates who are interested in taking admission in MBA and MCA programmes at the postgraduate level, the university has certain criteria, mentioned below.

· Apart from regular MCA, the university also offers candidates the opportunity to get lateral entry in MCA programme.

· Candidates applying for the M.B.A. programme must have completed graduation degree in any stream. They have to qualify for the Management Entrance Test, which is conducted by the university. Moreover, the admission also depends upon the score obtained in CAT/MAT/CMAT or any other recognised test during the last year.

· Candidates applying for admission in MCA program have to perform well in an entrance examination prepared by the university. However, to qualify for this programme, students must have completed their graduation in any stream, along with Mathematics.
