Gujarat University is an open institution which was established in 1949. It is known to be an affiliating university at the undergraduate level and a teaching university under the postgraduate level. It was known to be a major educational institution in the state. The university is governed and managed by several authorities like Academic Council, Executive Council, Board of Universities, Board of Extra-mural Studies, Board for Hotel's Management and Board of Studies. The university has a campus area of about 260 acres.

Gujarat University Admission Process

To be eligible for the entrance examination at Gujarat University, students applying for undergraduate programmes are supposed to have a 10+12 mark sheet with a minimum score of about 50%. For admission in the MBA programme or any other postgraduate programme, the students must have a relevant bachelor's degree with 50-55% aggregate. For MBBS, MS, MSc, MDS and MD, the students must qualify the NEET examination. The admission in these courses is based on the rankings secured by the students in the exam. The university conducts entrance exams for other programmes like undergraduate degree programmes, PhD level programmes and master's degree programmes.
