Sydney Institute of Business and Technology Programs

• SIBT provides a number of foundation courses and undergraduate diplomas.
• Foundation programs are of two types- standard and extended. The duration of the standard program is 8 months while that of the extended program is 12 months.

All you need to know about the Application Process

Pre-requisites

• Students are required to produce the higher secondary certificate (year 11) with an average of 60% or above in 4 subjects for the foundation program and an average of 55% or above for the diploma programs.
• An IELTS score of 5.0 is required for the standard foundation course and a score of 5.5 for the extended foundation course.
• The English requirement for the diploma courses is an IELTS score of 6.0. An equivalent score of TOEFL is also accepted.

How, When and Where to Apply

• Applications are invited thrice in a year for the sessions commencing in February, June and October every year.
• Students can either apply online by filling out the application for available at the official website or alternatively they can fill the printed application form and email it to admissions@sibt.nsw.edu.au along with the supporting documents.
• International students also have the choice of applying through an authorized representative of the institute based at their home country.

Upon receiving the offer letter, it is necessary for the students to pay the fees and charges due as indicated in the Letter of Offer. This will include partial course fees, plus the Overseas Student Health Cover charge if you're an international student. Once the fee is paid, the place of the student at SIBT is secured.

Western International merit scholarship

• It is an academic merit scholarship with a value up to 5000 AUD.
• There is no separate application process and all the students are automatically assessed for the scholarship.

  • The student must be an international student commencing the diploma during session 3 of 2019 or session 1 of 2020.
  • Meet the English requirements and all academic requirements
  • They should be self-funded students.

Provisional Entry Bursary

• It is provided to the students who need to complete the English language support unit as a Provisional Entry condition of their admission into the SIBT Diploma.
• Value of this bursary is up to 4600 AUD.
• Criteria for eligibility include
  • The student must be and international student commencing the diploma during session 3 of 2019 or session 1 of 2020.
  • Meet the English requirements and all academic requirements
  • They should be self-funded students.
• Students don’t need to apply separately as they are automatically considered for the same on the basis of merit.

Navitas academic merit scholarship 

• It is awarded each semester to two students who achieve the most outstanding results across all programs at SIBT.
• The scholarship is equivalent to one academic semester or part thereof.

Working while studying

Student visa already includes permission for work in Australia. Students will be able to work for a maximum of 20 hours per week during semesters. However the income earned from part time work is not sufficient to cover the studying and living expenses in Australia.
