University of Newcastle offers more than 100 programs with over 1000 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and certificate levels. Deadlines

UON takes applications in the months of February and July. Applicants are advised to submit applications a minimum of 12 weeks before intended semester.

Applications for admissions can be filed online or sent via regular mail.

Scholarships/ Financial Aid

University of Newcastle believes in the fact that education is a universal right and thus every student should have access to value and quality education. To aid applicants in this regard, UON provides various forms of scholarships and grants to its applicants, some of which are: 

  1. Golden Jubilee Commemorative International Scholarship 

Amount: 140,000 USD.

Duration: up to 5 years.

Deadline: December 13, 2019.

Eligibility: 

  • A current student of the University of Newcastle enrolled in an undergraduate program with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment is eligible for this scholarship.
  • The aspirant should be enrolled full-time at Callaghan Campus and must not hold access to any other scholarship.
  • Academic achievements and the written statement submitted by the seeker play a vital role in receiving this award.

NOTE: Entries for access to Golden Jubilee Commemorative International Scholarship is not yet open for year 2020.

  1. South Asia Business Scholarship

Amount: 12,500 USD.

No separate application required for this scholarship.

Eligibility: 

  • Any candidate enrolled in an undergraduate/postgraduate program at UON under Faculty of Business and Law can avail this studentship. 
  • The student enrolled in a full-time program and coming from one of the following countries will be automatically eligible for this scholarship:

India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka.

  1. Engineering and Technology Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship

Amount: 6, 000 to 18,000 USD.

Duration: up to 3 years.

No separate application required for this scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for this award, an aspirant should be enrolled in a postgraduate program with Engineering or Technology department. 
  • The candidate should be able to meet the minimum GPA requirements 4.5 and must not hold any other scholarship.

University of Newcastle, Australia is a highly reputed university with large enrolments of around 40,000 students each year with 7,000 International students from over 100 countries outside Australia. Application Fees: Free of cost

When to apply: Undergraduate semester intakes are semester one in February and semester two in July.

Academic Requirements: Official University Transcripts, SAT or ACT scores (optional), English Proficiency score for International students, Recommendation letters, Work Experience letters, copy of official passport, a minimum CGPA for each course.
