The Janatha Education Society was the brainchild of 12 founders which came into existence in 1972.  It was started with the objective to uphold altruistic principles of humanity.  The society runs Vivekananda Educational Institutions imparting education from Kindergarten to Post Graduation with over 14 Institutions, providing an opportunity to students to excel in academics while imbibing human values and aiding wholesome development under the tutelage of eminent academicians, all at minimal cost.  The Society has been a catalyst in uplifting innumerable students of weaker and underprivileged sections who have gone on to occupy high positions of reckoning.  The Vivekananda Educational Institutions have been Institutions of Excellence securing good results and top ranks besides bringing laurels in the field of Sports, Culture, Fine arts, etc. Vivekananda Institutions are one of the prestigious institutions of country attracting students from all over the country and also internationally. The Society has been successful in its aim and has grown exponentially since its inception in 1972.

The Society now boasts of four campuses namely City Campus in the Central Business District located on Dr.Rajkumar Road, Rajajinagar II Stage, Bangalore – 560 055 situated on a one-acre leased land from BDA with 1,00,000 sq.ft built-up space with a two-acre sprawling playground leased from BWSSB; VKIT Campus in Gudimavu, Kumbalagodu is a 30-acre Green Campus with aesthetically designed structures which houses Engineering, PU and Public school; Women’s College Campus which houses exclusive Girls PU and Degree colleges; Law College Campus houses the Law College and Hostel.  The society also runs a Girls Hostel located near Navarang, Rajajinagar and Staff Quarters located in Gudimavu, Kumbalagodu.  The Society has named the institutions after the great 19th century Philosopher, Monk and Intellectual “Sri Swamy Vivekananda.”  The total strength of the students in Vivekananda Institutions is in excess of 8,000.
