The West Bengal legislature passed the West Bengal Act IV in 2014. The act is approved by the governor and it laid the foundation of Adamas University. Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust established the university. It has created the following schools- School of Engineering and Technology, School of Management, School of Science, School of Life Science and Biotechnology, School of Social Sciences, School of Pharmaceutical Technology, School of Law & Justice, School of Education, School of Economics and Commerce and School of Professional Studies.

The university offers courses in computer science and engineering, electronics and communications engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, physics, geography, mathematics, chemistry, psychology, environmental science, business administration, law, Bengali language and literature, English language and literature, journalism and mass communication, history, sociology, political science, public administration & international relations, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, commerce, economics, education and pharmacy.

Adamas University Admission Process

The university sets up eligibility criteria for all the programmes. Candidates applying for admission have to secure qualifying marks in the AU Admission Test conducted by each of the schools of the institute. It also has the provision of direct admission. The candidates will be eligible for it if they have obtained more than 70% marks in the 10th or 12th standard examination of the West Bengal Board. For CBSE and ICSE students, it is 80% and above. Direct admission to BTech courses takes place according to the marks obtained by the candidates in the WBJEE and IIT JEE (Preliminary) exam. Candidates who have qualified CAT/MAT/XAT exam can take admission directly into MBA courses. Similarly, direct admission to law courses can be taken by qualifying the CLAT exam.

Adamas University Placements

The university has a placement cell. It arranges group discussions, mock interviews to help the students prepare for the on-campus recruitment drive. Students from the school of engineering have got job opportunities in well-known companies like TCS and Infosys. It has a good placement record. The key recruiting companies are Deb Construction, Locus Rags, ACC Ltd., Extramarks Education, Byju’s. It arranges classes to prepare its students for various competitive exams like Civil Service Examination, WBCS exam, SSC, PSC, bank exams, CAT, MAT, GRE, GMAT, IELTS/ TOEFL, NET. It has set up centres at places like Delhi, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai to help the students to get job opportunities in the core manufacturing sector. 

Adamas University Scholarships

The university offers scholarships to students who have scored more than 70% marks in boards exams. Students who have scored more than 60% and their family income is less than 2.5 lakh per year can also avail of scholarship.

Adamas University Internship

The university arranges an internship programme for engineering students. It collaborates with many well-known companies like Balmer Lawrie, Aditya Birla Group, TATA Tea, Sun Pharma, DTDC Express, ACC, CIPLA, Mactintosh, Paytm, Vawsum Schools, Webel. Students who are pursuing a BEd degree are given the opportunity of a four-month school internship. Many companies also offer an internship to students pursuing journalism and mass communication. The experience gives them a glimpse of the professional world.
