The Avinashilingam University is a women’s deemed university located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1957. This is one of the biggest institutions of India for providing Home Science Education. The university is UGC approved.

Avinashilingam University has multiple programmes at UG, PG and M.Phil and Ph.D. level. The university provides courses like BE,B.E.Lateral, B.Sc., B.A., B.Ed., B.Com.,B.C.A.B.P.Ed. at UG level and  ME, MBA,M.Ed., MCA at PG level. The university also offers researched based courses under Ph.D and M.Phil.

Admission Highlights

Candidates seeking admission for BE and ME programmes need to go through an entrance test conducted by the university. The candidates are selected as per the marks obtained in the exam along with their 10 + 2 level marks. The university takes admission of the candidates to the rest of the courses according the basis of marks obtained in the previous exam.

The university offers Bachelor of Engineering (BE), BE Lateral and Master of Engineering (ME) programs to students seeking to make a career in the field of technology. BE and BE Lateral Entry programmes have a duration period of 4 years and 3 years respectively, while ME takes 2 years to get completed.

The min, eligibility for B.E. is, the candidate must have passed 10+ 2 with the relevant subjects. For M.E., the candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent with min. 50% marks from a recognized university.

For the BE and ME course admissions, the university holds an entrance exam for the interested candidates. The obtained marks in that exam along with the marks of 10+2 level exam will be used to make the selection of the candidates. 5% marks relaxation is provided by the university for SC/ST Category candidates for BE and BE Lateral Entry programs.

At the UG level the university provides a bunch of courses. It offers Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B. Sc), Bachelor of Education (B. Ed), Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P. Ed), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), B.Sc.,B.Ed and Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) for the interested candidates. Duration of all the UG courses is 3 years, except B.Ed and B.P. Ed which take 2 years to complete and B.Sc., B.Ed which are of 4 years duration.
