IIM Calcutta Admission Process
The institute admits students based on their CAT percentile, performance in the Personal Interview and Written Ability Test (WAT), points awarded by their university at bachelor level for academic diversity, performance in Class 10 and 12 along with work experience if they have any. The final selection depends upon the merit of the students in each category. However, the candidates must have a bachelor degree with at least 50 % marks.
Students appearing for their final year of bachelor degrees can also apply. The reservation policy for admission of the Central Educational Institutions (CEIs) is followed by the institution.
IIM Calcutta Placement and Salary Trends
The institute is famous for providing employment opportunities for the students. The placement procedure is organised in March after the completion of the courses. Many students are able to secure lucrative job offers at the end of their internships. As per the latest placement reports, 442 students were placed on the first day of the recruitments. The highest CTC offered was 72 LPA, median CTC being 23.75 LPA and the average being 25.40 LPA.
The institute was visited by the best recruiters of the world such as Microsoft, McKinsey & Co. Goldman Sachs, Amazon, JP Morgan Chase, Uber, Bank of America Merril Lynch, Hindustan Unilever, Mahindra and Microsoft. Consulting and Finance were the major areas of recruitment.
