Established in 2008The Indian Institute of Public Health – Delhi (IIPH-D or PHFI Delhi) is one of the five campuses that come under the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). Affiliated to Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), this Institute offers PG, PG Diploma, doctoral and research-level integrated programmes to students in the field of Medicine & Health Sciences.  IIPH-D also arranges various training programmes, research workshops, field visits, interactive sessions for students along with discussions for participants and research staff.

This Campus organises a number of student initiatives namely Stop Food Wastage Campaign, Blood Donation Camps, along with hosting yearly event named ‘UMANG’ to celebrate togetherness and reinforcement of nurturing relations. Faculty members at IIPH-Delhi hold vast experience in the domains of Public Health, Health Management, Biostatistics, Community Medicine, Epidemiology, Demography, Health Economics, Health Policy, Health Social Sciences, Anthropology, Environmental & Occupational Health and Public Health Nutrition.

The institute is also engaged in conducting numerous research activities which have received funding support from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of AYUSH, Medical Council of India, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, Department of Science and Technology, among others. IIPH aims to provides value-based education for overall skill development of the students. It  also features some noteworthy international collaborations for research support with Boston University, Cornell University, Department of Public Health, Deakin University, Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health, Economic and Social Research Council, Harvard School of Public Health, to name a few.

IIPH, Delhi Admission Process

Students can complete the registration for IIPH Delhi admission process in online mode only. The application form is available on the official website of the Institute that needs to be downloaded, filled and uploaded with requisite documents along with an applicable registration fee. The admission criteria at IIPH-D is different for each course as explained below:

PG Courses

  • MPH: Admission to this course is offered basis a student’s marks in board/university examinations, work experience and performance in essay writing and GDPI round
  • PG Diploma in Public Health Management: Students are offered admission to this course basis their merit in the last qualifying examination, work experience, Statement of Purpose (SOP), and performance in the PI round

Research-level Courses

  • Integrated MSc & PhD: Candidates get admission to this course on the basis of their marks in postgraduate degree, work experience, SOP and PI round
  • PhD: Students need to have Master’s or MPhil degree from a recognised university along with a qualifying score in the entrance exam and a PI round conducted by PHFI

IIPH, Delhi Courses

The Indian Institute of Public Health-Delhi offers a two-year PG-level programme i.e. Master of Public Health along with a PG Diploma Public Health Management comprising nine-month classroom teaching and three-month project work (plus field study). At research level, it offers an Integrated MSc & PhD programme in Clinical Research (in collaboration with AcSIR) of five-year duration and a PhD course in Health Sciences and Public Health of three years.

The PhD programme is offered in full-time mode and involves interdisciplinary research in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Health Systems (with focus on Reproductive & Child Health and Nutrition) under the affiliated programmes of SCTIMST. IIPH, Delhi Placements

IIPH Delhi placements are driven and managed by its on-campus placement cell which facilitates the employability of all the students enrolled in different academic programmes. This cell works on identifying the employment relevant opportunities and providing timely update to students about jobs that match their career choices. It also organises professional development workshop, sessions on email etiquettes, resume writing, cover letter writing, mock interviews, and group discussion.

IIPH, Delhi Scholarships

IIPH Delhi scholarships are disbursed under the names of Emmes Scholarship Fund and Dr. P G Tulpule Scholarship. These scholarships are full, half or part-funded and are offered to a specific group of candidates, subject to their fulfilling of the set eligibility criteria. The funding is aimed at encouraging students to choose, pursue and advance career, work in the area of public health and contribute to the society at large.
