The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS-BHU) is one of the six institutes of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. Established in 1960, the Institute of Medical Sciences is the medical school of the Banaras Hindu University and has three faculties (Medicine, Ayurveda & Dental Sciences). - Applicants’ must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with minimum 50 per cent aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology along with English as a subject for admission to Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, BDS and MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programmes
- Candidates need to qualify NEET UG exam for admission to Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, BDS and MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
- The counseling for MBBS/BDS courses is conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC)
- Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission, the upper age limit is 25 years (30 years for SC/ST/OBC category) for admission to BDS and MBBS programme
- MD, MDS, MD Ayurveda and MS Ayurveda admissions are based on valid score in NEET PG exam
- Applicants' must have passed BDS course recognised by the Dental Council of India and completed one year internship training for admission to MDS programme
