Originally established in Aligarh, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a central public university founded in the year 1920. Abdul Kalam Scholarship” established from the 'Central Scholarship Fund' provides scholarships for various undergraduate and graduate programmes for students belonging to economically weak families. Under this scholarship, 50% of the scholarship fund is granted to female students.
