Established in the year 1892, Khalsa College is an autonomous college located in Amritsar, Punjab. The college is affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU). At present, Khalsa College, Amritsar offers UG, PG and M.Phil programs in various specializations. In addition to it, the college also offers Diploma and PG Diploma programs in different streams.

• Candidates seeking admission to UG, PG, M.Phil courses are shortlisted on the basis of Entrance Test/ Merit Basis/ Direct Admission.
• Admission in the field of Agriculture, Food & Tech, Physics and Chemistry is done through marks scored in Entrance Test. 
• Admission to BA in Social sciences is done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance test.
• For Botany and Zoology courses as well as BMM, MPT and M.Sc (Biotech), selection of candidates is done on merit basis.

Khalsa College, Amritsar Admission Highlights:

Khalsa College UG Admission 2020: B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA

Khalsa College offers admissions in B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, BPT and Journalism & Multimedia at UG level. The admission criteria is different for each course that may require candidates to appear in entrance test or interview.

The admissions are also direct and merit-based for some courses. The minimum eligibility is a pass in 10+2 in the relevant group from a board recognized by GNDU.

Key Points:

• The merit for entrance-based courses will be based on 70% marks in the Entrance Test and 30% marks in the qualifying class.
• Merit for B.A in Social Sciences will include 40% marks in the qualifying exam and 60% marks in interview.
• There are limited seats for entrance-based courses.

Khalsa College PG Admissions 2020: M.A, M.Com, M.Sc & MPT

At PG level, Khalsa College offers M.A, M.Com, MJMC, M..Sc & MPT in various specializations. The selection of candidates is done through merit/entrance test (for certain specializations) or interview.

In order to be eligible, the candidates must have obtained Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate subject from a recognized university or institution with minimum 50% or 45% marks (as per subject requirement). 

Key Points:

• At the time of entrance-based selection, 70% preference will be given to the performance in the entrance while 30% will be given to the marks in the qualifying examination.
• For M.Sc Zoology/Botany/Biotechnology/Food Science & Technology and MPT, the interview will be conducted by the concerned department on the day of final admission.

Khalsa College Diploma And PG Diploma Admission 2020

The college also offers PG Diploma and Diploma courses for the duration of one-year. The admission is offered on first come first serve and subject to availability of seats. The minimum academic requirement for PG Diploma is graduation while for Diploma a 10+2 pass is desired.

Khalsa College M.Phil Admission 2020

At research level, the college offers M.Phil degree in eight subjects. The admission is granted on the basis of marks in the respective entrance examination followed by a performance in the interview.

The minimum eligibility is a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with 55% marks or equivalent from a recognized university.

Key Points:

• The final selection of candidates is done after considering entrance test scores and merit of the qualifying examination.
• 5% relaxation or equivalent is given to SC/ST candidates.
