Magadh University (MU) was founded by Satyendra Narayan Sinha in 1962. Dr Sarvapali Radhakrishnan laid the University's foundation. The public-state university holds the recognition of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Magadh University is accredited with NAAC ‘Grade C’. Magadh University is also known as a digital university because it has digitalised the entire curriculum for its students, including attendance, degree request, student portal and document management. The University holds 17th rank in the list of country's 20 best universities which is prepared by Indian Council of Marketing Research in 2019.
With its sprawling 460-acre campus, 24 PG departments, 44 constituent colleges, eight faculties and 85 affiliated institutes, it is Bihar's largest university. The University has several dedicated set of institutes that offer courses in distance learning mode only. Therefore, the University is also recognised with Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). It offers numerous UG, PG, diploma, doctoral, professional and vocational degree courses in a variety of fields. In addition to this, the University also offers dual degree and twinning programmes in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Magadh University is very popular for its national-level seminars that are on a regular basis.

Magadh University Admission Process
To get admitted to any of the programmes at Magadh University, aspirants must fill the application form available at the university's official website or by visiting the University in-person. Applications are reviewed by the University for basic eligibility requirements and the score obtained in previous qualifying examination. However, for granting admission to several PG courses, the University also conducts an in-house entrance exam. For seeking admission to the research-based courses offered at Magadh University, candidates need to appear for pre-PhD test.

Magadh University Placements
Magadh University has an active Training and Placement Cell which is responsible for helping graduating students in securing placements. Magadh University Scholarships
Magadh University does not provide its students with scholarships or fee concessions. However, it assists them in obtaining education loans and offers full support related to certification and documentation. Also, state and central government provide all the students belonging from ST, SC, OBC and minority categories (which cover around 70% to 75% of total students enrolled) with financial assistance.
