The functioning of the University is managed through organisations established in the statute as well as bodies created to implement the statute. These bodies have been so designed that relevant stakeholders and impartial experts can deliberate and decide key concerns of university policy.

The following have been created by the NALSAR Act:

General Council

The plenary authority of the University entrusted with formulating and reviewing, as and when necessary, the broad policies and programmes is the General Council. The membership of the body encapsulates for the outside world the strength of NALSAR as an institution:

  1. It serves as a symbol of the overarching guidance that the institution derives from both the judge and the jurist, both of whom are central to creation of knowledge that the university seeks to train its students in.
  2. It also retains among the members those who have been part of the institution since its inception, thus providing for a degree of continuity of endeavor that was envisaged by these founding fathers.

The following constitute, with the Chancellor as chairperson, the General Council:

  • Hon'ble Shri Justice Raghvendra S Chauhan, Chief Justice, High Court for the State of Telangana & Chancellor, NALSAR
