4 years ago - VETERINARY SCIENCE - Fatehpur - 475 viewsNarendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad, also known as NDUAT, Faizabad was founded on January 15, 1974, by the then Prime Minister, Hon'ble Smt. Indira Gandhi. Established with the agenda of developing agricultural technologies and delivering them to students to suit the needs of the farmers and assist them, NDUAT is one of the four universities which conducts the Uttar Pradesh-Combined Agricultural and Technology Entrance Test (UP-CATET) for admitting students in the various agricultural universities. Also, NDUAT considers only UP-CATET to admit students for different courses.
NDUAT teaches courses like B.Sc., M.Sc., B.V.Sc., M.V.Sc., B.Tech in accordance with the recommendations of the 5th Dean’s Committee of ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) from 2016-17. NDUAT has more than 2000 students currently who are exposed to good training and internship opportunities.

NDUAT Courses
NDUAT offers 8 UG courses, 35 PG courses, and Ph.D. in 16 specializations. All of these courses follow the semester system. UG courses have 8 or 10 semesters, PG courses have 4 semesters and Ph.D. courses have 6 semesters.

NDUAT College of Agriculture
Established in 1977, NDUAT College of Agriculture has 14 departments and offers the courses of B.Sc. (Agri.), M.Sc. (Agri.), and Ph.D. Spread in an area of 400 ha, the campus boasts fully-equipped laboratory. The Centre of Advanced Faculty Training (CAFT) here, funded by the UNDP and ICAR has been designated as “Centre of Excellence in Rice.”
Another branch of NDUAT College of Agriculture was opened in Azamgarh in 2016. Only B.Sc. (Agri.) is offered there.
NDUAT College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
NDUAT College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry was established in March 1994. Working for the betterment of the livestock sector, the college offers quality teaching through its 17 departments. The campus is regularly inspected by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and also offers a 6 months internship programme also.
NDUAT College of Horticulture and Forestry
NDUAT College of Horticulture and Forestry offers a 4-year bachelor’s degree programme. The college aims at all-round development of the students and to take that forward, NDUAT offers a variety of learning programmes.

NDUAT offers a lot of programmes for the overall development of its students accompanied with field experience so that they can perform well and assist farmers properly. Some of those programs are:

NDUAT Student Life
NDUAT takes its students to various study tours to get them the inside knowledge of different organizations. It is mandatory for the students to stay in the hostel. They provide good sports facilities including Athletics, Gymnastics, Tennis, and Yoga. Students also get concession in railway fares.
NDUAT Scholarship
NDUAT provides 20 types of scholarships for more than 60% of its students. Besides providing NDUAT merit scholarship, they provide scholarships on the basis of criterions like reserved categories and minorities.
