National Institute Of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai established In The Year 1986.It is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion brand. The institute located in Chennai where it offers four-year bachelor and two-year master programmes in the field of Design, Management and Technology. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Chennai campus in Tamil Nadu is one among sixteen campuses of National Institute of Fashion Technology. NIFT – Chennai was established in 1995.

At Under Graduate level, NIFT Chennai offers Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.FTech.) & Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) in six different disciplines. The institute also offers Masters of Fashion Technology (MFT) and Masters of Fashion Management (MFM) at post-graduate level.

• The application process for both the UG and PG courses is online.
• Minimum eligibility for admission to B.Design and B.Ftech course is HSC from a recognized board.
• For B.Design course, candidates will have to appear for GAT (General Ability Test) and CAT (Creative Ability Test) followed by a situation test, conducted under NIFT Entrance Exam.
• Admission to B.Ftech course is on the basis of GAT entrance examination.
• Admission to MFM and MFT is done on the basis of entrance exam conducted by NIFT.
• For native candidates of Tamil Nadu, 20% seats above the prescribed quota for each course are reserved.
• NLEA (NIFT Lateral entry Admissions) is conducted by NIFT for direct admission to second year of the course.

NIFT, Chennai UG Courses Admission 2020

NIFT, Chennai offers B.Des. Course in six specializations and B.FTech course in one specialization.

Candidates applying for B.Des. will have to pass CAT, GAT entrance exams conducted by NIFT. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a situation test and for B.Ftech course candidates will have to pass GAT entrance exam.

For eligibility criteria, candidates must be pass in 10+2 or equivalent from recognized board.

Key Points to remember for UG Admission:

• Maximum age of candidates applying must be not more than 23 years of age as on October 01, 2020.
• GAT and CAT entrance exam has no negative marking.
• CAT entrance exam for B.Design will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM and GAT will be from 2 PM to 4 PM.
• GAT exam for B.Ftech course will be conducted from 10 AM to 1 PM.

NIFT, Chennai PG Courses Admission 2020

NIFT, Chennai offers MFM and MFT programs at PG level. Candidates applying to MFM must have done graduation from a recognized institute. For MFT, candidate must have passed B.FTech from NIFT or B.E./B.Tech. from a recognized University/Board.

Selection to both the course is on the basis of GAT entrance exam followed by Group Discussion and Interview.

• There is no provision of negative marking in the entrance exam.
• There is no age limit for applying to PG course.

NIFT Chennai Application Process 2020

Candidates applying for UG courses have to apply through online mode. Following steps need to be followed to fill the application form.

• Visit the official website of college.
• Fill the application form carefully.
• The fee can be paid through online mode or through Demand Draft.
• In Online Mode, candidate can pay through Net Banking/Credit/Debit Card.
• The Demand Draft should be issued in favor of "NIFT HO", payable at New Delhi.
• Candidates are required to send the printout of the application form, duly completed in all respect, along with Demand Draft.
• Application Fees: INR 1500 (Non-Creamy OBC and General Candidates) and INR 750 (SC/ ST/ PwD candidates)
