National Institute Of Technology Or NIT Patna is a Public Institute established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in 2004. The Institute is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Courses offered by the Institute are: B.Arch, B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Plan, Integrated M.Sc, and M.Tech + Ph.D. NIT Patna admission to certain courses will be done on the basis of Entrance Exams – JEE Main (for B.Tech), NATA (for B.Arch), GATE (for M.Tech and M.Plan).

NIT Patna Courses and Eligibility

B.Tech And B.Arch Course Eligibility

NIT Patna offers a four-year full-time B.Tech program in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.

• The basic eligibility criteria to apply for B.Tech program is 75% marks in 10+2 (Science Stream).
• Final Selection to the course will be done on the basis JEE Main Entrance Exam Score.

NIT Patna offers a five-year full-time B.Arch program to the candidates with 75% marks in 10+2 (Science Stream). Final selection to the course will be done on the basis NATA Entrance Exam Score.

Integrated M.Sc Course Eligibility

NIT Patna offers a five-year full-time M.Sc program in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The basic eligibility to apply for Integrated M.Sc course is having passed 10+2 (Science stream). Final selection will be done on the basis of the Written Entrance Test conducted by the Institute.

M.Tech And M.Plan Course Eligibility

NIT Patna offers two-year full-time M.Tech/ M.Plan program to candidates having passed Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture. Final Selection to the course will be done on the basis GATE Entrance Exam Score.

NIT Patna Ph.D. Eligibility

NIT Patna offers three years full-time Ph.D. research program to candidates having passed Master’s/ M/Phil Degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate. NIT Patna Ph.D. Admission will be done on the basis Entrance Exam conducted by the Institute.

NIT Patna Placement

NIT Patna Placements Cell has partnered with Mettl, an organization that helps in the assessment of the suitable candidate by conducting an entrance exam called as Mettl’s Employability Test. On the basis of scores obtained in Mettl’s Employability Test, registered recruiters shortlist candidates for the Personal Interview followed by Final Placement procedure.
