The Osmania Medical College is situated in Hyderabad and was established in 1846 by the Nizam Osman Ali Khan. It is one of the most reputable medical institutes in the subcontinent. Initially affiliated to the Osmania Unversity, it is currently affiliated to the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences and Osmania General Hospital. The speciality that sets it apart from other institutes in the country is that Osmania Medical college has a training hospital for every medical speciality.

The different training hospitals include Osmania General Hospital, Niloufer Hospital, Sir Ronald Ross Institute of Tropical and Communicable Diseases, Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Government Chest Hospital, Mehdi Nawaz Jung Institute of Oncology and Government ENT Hospital. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and super speciality courses for students. In 2017, the college was ranked 16th among the best medical colleges in India by Outlook India.

Osmania Medical College Admission

The admission process for the MBBS course in the college is based on the student's performance in the NEET exam. They are required to have passed class 12 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the primary subjects.

For enrolment in PG courses, students need to have a valid score in NEET PG exam. The eligibility criterion is the same for super speciality courses as well. The basic requirement for PG course is an MBBS degree from a recognized university.
