October 2005 marked the commencement of the journey that would realise the long standing dream of Smt. Rukmini Shyama Raju of educating the masses, with the establishment of the Rukmini Educational Charitable Trust (RECT). RECT is a Charitable Trust with the aim of promoting, establishing and conducting developmental activities in the fields of Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, Science & Technology, Law, Architecture, Performing Arts and others.

In pursuit of meeting these aims, the Trust has set up the REVA Group of Educational Institutions comprising REVA Institute of Technology and Management, REVA Institute of Science and Management, REVA Institute of Management Studies, REVA Institute of Education, REVA First Grade College, REVA Independent PU College, Kattigenahalli, REVA Independent PU College, Ganganagar and REVA Independent PU College, Sanjaynagar and REVA University. Through these institutions, the Trust seeks to fulfill its vision of providing world class education and create abundant opportunities for the youth of this nation to excel in the areas of Engineering Science & Technology, Commerce, Management, Law, Architecture, Education, Arts and Performing Arts.

The Rukmini Educational Charitable Trust is driven with a purpose of helping students who are in pursuit of quality education for life. REVA, today, is a family of ten institutions providing education from Pre University to Post Graduation and providing research and resource support to Ph. D. degree aspirants. REVA has a faculty of well qualified and experienced teaching professionals, most of whom are doctorates. The dedicated faculty is strongly supported by committed administrative and technical staff. Over 15,000 students study different courses across REVA’s three campuses equipped with exemplary state-of-the-art infrastructure of global standard and exciting environment for the knowledge driven community.

Every great human enterprise is powered by the vision of one or more extraordinary individuals and is sustained by the people who derive their motivation from the founders. Dr. P. Shyama Raju, the Chairman of the Trust is a developer and builder of repute, a captain of the industry in his own right and the Chairman & Managing Director of the DivyaSree Group of companies.

The provenance of setting up these top notch educational institutions was fueled by the philanthropic instincts of Dr. P. Shyama Raju. He believes in doing public good and in keeping with his support to other socially relevant charities such as maintaining the Richmond Road Park, building and donating a Police Station, gifting assets to organizations providing accident and trauma care, working on TTD Devasthanams, leading national campaigns like Jagruti add value to his portfolio.
