Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) was established in the year 1999. The university offers various multidisciplinary UG, PG, Ph.D., Diploma and Certificate courses to the students. Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Jammu is ranked Number 15 in the year 2016-17 amongst Agricultural Universities by ICAR. Admissions are done on the basis of a common entrance examination conducted at the university level.

SKUAST Jammu Admissions

Applicants seeking admission in the University are required to fill an online application form available on the official website of the University (www.skuast.org). Before filling up, students must check the basic eligibility criteria of every course. The candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will have to appear in the SKUAST-J Common Entrance Test. The students will also be required to pay a nominal application fee of INR 1,8000 and INR 2,800 with a late fee for appearing in the test.

Eligibility requirements: 

• Only permanent residents of the Jammu and Kashmir State as defined in Section 6 of the Constitution of J&K are eligible for seeking admission to all UG and PG courses.
• For admission to the UG program in Biotechnology, candidates from outside states can also apply.
• The candidates hailing from states other than Jammu and Kashmir can seek admission under NRI/ NRI sponsored quota for B. V.Sc. & A.H. and B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture.

Selection procedure: 

The selection is purely based on the rank secured in the CET and the choices indicated in the counseling form for both UG and PG courses. However, selection will be provisional till final verification of eligibility of a candidate.

SKUAST Jammu Scholarship

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu offers a scholarship for college and university students. The qualification level of the students should be Class 12 (top 20%). The scholarships would be paid for 10 months in an academic year to the students whose family income is less than Rs.6 lakh per annum. The rate of scholarship is given below -

• For Graduation level – INR 1000 for the first three years
• For Post-Graduation level - INR 2,000 per month
• For Professional Course - INR 2,000 per month in the 4th and 5th year
