The aim and vision of the college is to provide empowerment to women through education. Smt Addepalli Vivekacananda Devi the Founder Secretary was, a great educationist and social worker Sri Kroviddi Lingaraju, the Founder President a freedom fighter and a staunch Congress worker lent a helping hand and the college became a reality.Sri P.V.Narasimha Rao,the then Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh and later Prime Minister laid the foundation of the college on September 2 1968.Started with a handful of students, the college has grown in strength and stature from huts to pucca buildings. The college was admitted into grant-in-aid in1973.
