Society of The Sacred Heart of Jesus established Sophia College for Women in the Year 1940. The college offers undergraduate courses for female students. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Sophia College For Women received the autonomy status in July 2018 from the University Grants Commission. In the year 2015, NAAC reaccredited the college with ‘A’ grade by awarding a score of 3.70 out of 4. The Sophia College For Women is a private college built over 4 acres of land area.

Sophia College for Women Admission Process

The following points must be noted for applying for admission to Sophia College for women.

• For applying to the undergraduate course, the applicant should have completed 10+2 from a recognized Board or University with at least 50% marks
• For the Postgraduate courses, the applicant should have completed graduation with a minimum of 50% marks.
• For MSc courses, graduation in any Science subject is required.
• For Diploma in Computer Applications, the applicant should have completed BSc or MSc with subjects such as Biochemistry/ Biotechnology, Life Science/ Microbiology/ Zoology. For a Post Graduate Diploma in Quality Assurance, the applicant should have completed BSc with Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology.
• Admission to all the courses is based on merit.

Sophia College for Women Placements

For the year 2018, the maximum salary package offered to students passing out from B.Sc was Rs 2.55 Lakhs. While the minimum salary offered was Rs 2.55 lakhs. For the B.A courses in the year 2017, the maximum salary offered to students was Rs 4lakhs while the minimum salary was Rs 2.2 lakhs.
