It was founded under the Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University Act 2012 by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
IGTAMSU comprises four faculties namely Faculty of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Law and Juridical Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Sciences which further include 11 departments. Additionally, this University features a specialised Vocational Course Division offering courses like BVoc and MVoc across multiple disciplines. It also offers UG, PG, doctorate, certificate, diploma and postgraduate diploma programmes in streams like Yoga, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Management, Law, Engineering, etc.

The Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University Admission Process
The process of IGTAMSU admission 2020 is open for students in both online and offline modes. Admission is granted on first-come-first-serve basis in case the candidate fulfils the basic eligibility criteria laid down by the University. Since there are multiple departments in the University, eligibility for some courses is set differently, as enlisted below:
- BNYS: Admission is done on the basis of a valid score in NEET UG 2020
- PhD: Candidates are required to clear UGC NET 2020 for securing admission in this course
- Admission to other programmes is done on the basis of merit / marks in the last qualifying examination
