Thiruvalluvar University is a public state-owned university situated in the city of Vellore in Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu established the university in the year 2002. Since its inception, the university has developed a number of departments - Department of Economics, Zoology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Tamil and English. It provides both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs under it. The university is affiliated with the University Grants Commissions (UGC). It is accredited with Grade 'B' by NAAC.

Thiruvalluvar University Admission

For admission in undergraduate courses, the interested candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or other equivalent examination from a recognized board. Admissions at Thiruvalluvar University are done only on the basis of 10+2 results. There are quotas and a certain percentage of reserved seats for candidates belonging to the minority communities like SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and other backward classes. After admission, the photocopies of the following must be produced during counseling and verification:

• Provisional mark sheet must be attested by the Head of the School,
• Community certificate (if applicable)
• Certificate of proof of admission is done under PD/Sports quota
• Transfer/migration certificate
• Eligible certificate for students of other states/university
