The college is committed to produce engineers in established and conventional disciplines in general and in the areas of Computers, Information and Communication Engineering in particular. Technical education institution with Government support at Proddatur as a constituent college to Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa to cater to the needs and dreams of rural students of Rayalaseema in particular and Andhra Pradesh in general. Prodattur is a commercial centre with proximity to many cement industries and upcoming industries like Brahmani Steels, etc. Development in technical education can be accelerated only with the involvement of industry. The upcoming industries would increase the employment potential in and around Kadapa leading to the overall development of the region.
The University college presently offers six conventional disciplines of Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communications, Metallurgy and Material Technology, Mechanical and Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Metallaurgical Engineering leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering.
The college , as it is a budding institution and owing to paucity of space is presently run in shift system in two locations i.e;, YSR College of Engineering of YVU and SKSC Degree College and at present no hostel accommodation is available for boys.
As such the college at present doesn't have hostel facility on the campus. However for the convenience of girl students rented accommodation is acquired and the hostels are being run on cost to cost sharing basis. With the support of UGC & AICTE, adjacent to the main college premises, two hostels meant for girl students are under construction.
