Bishop Heber College (BHC), Tiruchirappalli was established in 1864. It is affiliated to Bharathidasan University and granted ‘Autonomy’ in 2004. It is accredited with Grade ‘A+’ and awarded 5 Stars by NAAC in 2001. It is an aided institution under the Government of Tamilnadu. The college has been recognised by the UGC as ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ on September 2011. Earlier it was known as Heber Memorial School and and in 1882 it became a First Grade College. It was then known as S.P.G College. It was the first college to be established in Tiruchirappalli. The College came to be known as Bishop Heber College in the late 1920's. It is a religious minority educational institution established by the Tiruchirappalli - Thanjavur Diocese of the Church of South India. It is located at the heart of Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu and it’s campus spread over 200 acres.

Bishop Heber College PG Admission 2020: M.A, M.Com, MCA, MBA & MSW

The college offers Master’s degree in a number of disciplines and professional courses such as MCA and MBA. All PG courses are of two years duration except for MCA which is of three years duration. It also offers PG Diploma programs in various specializations.

Admissions to MCA and MBA will be granted on the basis of TANCET score following by Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by Anna University.

In the case of other degree courses like M.A, M.Sc, MSW, M.Com and M.Li.Sc, The candidates are admitted on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree.

Bishop Heber College M.Phil And Ph.D. Admission 2020

The college also grants admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. program in a number of specializations under different disciplines. Admission to full-time and part-time M.Phil course is conducted by Bharthidasan University through the merit of the qualifying degree.

Ph.D. admissions are done through written test and interview conducted by Bharthidasan University. Applications for Ph.D. are invited in the month of December, March, June and September every year.

The candidates holding Master’s degree with CGPA of 5.51 on 10 point scale are eligible for M.Phil admissions. Part-time M.Phil course can be pursued by any candidate, irrespective of their employment, provided they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

Online Mode:

  1. Candidates need to apply online under the ‘Apply Online’ section available on the college website.
  2. After filling in the necessary details carefully candidates must pay the requisite fee through available options of online payment gateway which is INR 175 for PG courses and INR 150 for UG courses.
  3. The candidates will receive an approval of registration through email or SMS.
  4. Applicants must take the printout of the form and affix a passport size photograph which is required to be submitted at the time of admission.

Offline Mode:

  • Candidates can obtain the application form from college office during working hours.
