Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, was established in the year of 1918 with the purpose to train dedicated persons to run, manage and provide health care in the spirit of Christ through the mission hospitals. The college is permanently affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. It offers various UG, PG, and diploma courses focusing on the areas of Medicine, Surgery, and Nursing. CMC Vellore Admission 2019 is done through the entrance examination followed by Interview round. The college also accepts the NEET score for admission to the M.B.B.S. program.

Students who have appeared in the entrance test conducted by the CMC Vellore for various UG & PG courses like B.Sc, M.Sc, Allied Health Science courses, can check their results online by following the official website. The final seat is offered to the aspirants, after the declaration of result followed by preparation of merit list & counseling process. In order to check the result status, students must know about their roll number & other personal details. All selected students have to submit the following certificates (along with one set of Xerox copy) to confirm their seat during counseling:

  1. Marks sheet or grade sheet of qualifying examinations
  2. Passing & eligibility certificate (from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University) of the qualifying exam

CMC Vellore Scholarship

Despite the extensive medical services provided by the hospitals and community outreach, the mission statement makes it clear that CMC’s primary concern is education, training, and professional development. There is a commitment to ensure that the cost of education should not be a barrier to anyone desiring to pursue a course at CMC. Students who find it difficult to meet even these low fees are encouraged to apply for scholarships that are available for all undergraduate courses (Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences). Scholarships are awarded according to economic need and cover all or part of the fees and accommodation costs. Scholarships are available for deserving candidates following an assessment.

CMC Vellore Facilities

Library: Well stocked medical libraries exist in both the hospital and college campuses. Scientific journals, MEDLINE system for literature search, internet and reprographic facilities are available in the libraries. There is a well-organized Medical Records Library in the institution as well as a departmental records system. Facilities are provided in these areas for trainees to conduct retrospective case studies from the records. Library service also includes online access to reading journals.

Medical Facilities: The town campus houses the main hospital where any of the students can avail of medical facilities as per their needs. CMC has over 9,500 staff, including over 1,799 doctors and 2,947 Nurses. There are 106 wards including 11 ICUs and 6 HDUs. About 76% of the beds are in general wards and are subsidized to reduce the financial burden on patients. There are 39 major operation theatres and a further 14 facilities for minor procedures. An average of 185 operations is carried out each day.

Infrastructure: There are two main campuses - one, the main campus at the heart of Vellore city, and the other at Bagayam, which is about 7 km from the main campus. CMC has over 9,500 staff, including over 1,799 doctors and 2,947 Nurses. Facilities for tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, hockey and table tennis are available on the campus itself.
