Dr. D Y Patil College of Nursing, Pune was established in 2000! The College was started with the objective of imparting high quality education to students, so that they have in-depth practical knowledge and develop skills.

The College is internationally recognized as a centre of excellence for education and research. The mission of the College is to take Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Nursing, Pune to newer heights! The College has set a goal for itself to excel in nursing care in the field Education and in service through Research.

It does so by preparing and enlightening the students of this Course with quality education which is at par with the best standards in the country. After the completion of the Course they can provide comprehensive nursing care and assume responsibilities as specialists, consultants, educators and administrators and become future leaders in the health care sector.

The College is approved by Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai & Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. It has been re-accredited by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.6 2 on a four point scale at 'A' Grade. The College has secured the 18th rank in Medical Category and 52nd rank in University Category in India (NIRF-2018). Infact, the College has been declared as Category - I University by UGC under Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018. It is also an ISO 9001: 2015 Certified University.

Programs on offer

On offer are Programs like Basic B.Sc in Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc in Nursing. After completing the required course, one can also go for Ph.D in Nursing. Students can also opt for the Certificate Course in Critical Care Nursing. The duration of Basic B.Sc in Nursing is 4 years, Post Basic B.Sc is 2 years, M.Sc in Nursing is 2 years, PhD is 3 to 5 years and Certificate Course in Critical Care Nursing is 6 months.

Special features

Various research activities are carried out by B. Sc and M. Sc students of nursing and faculty of the College. They are also involved in various activities like framing statements, objectives and review of literature, Journal Presentation / Journal clubs, Synopsis & Research Proposal, which is approved by Scientific Committee, Research & Recognition Committee & Ethics Committee. The College has International Collaborations with Johns Hopkins University, USA. Extracurricular activities such as Pulse polio, Blood Donation and National Health Day celebration are observed annually to make the society aware of the benefits of living a positive life.
