Ever since its establishment in 1922, it has grown into one of India's largest universities with more than 80 academic departments, 16 faculties, over 7 lakh students and numerous colleges affiliated to it.
The public institution is spread across two campuses in Delhi, namely South Campus and North Campus. Also, it holds the membership of several well-reputed organizations like the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and Universitas 21.
Delhi University Admission Process
The university is highly selective and it is considered very difficult to secure admission in DU. The admission process is different for entrance test-based programmes and merit-based ones. However, all aspirants need to register on a centralized admission portal depending on the course.
- For online registration, an applicant will have to pay the application fee and fill in the application form
- Admission in merit-based courses depends on the 'best of four' aggregate marks obtained by the applicant in the higher secondary qualifying exam
- Admission in entrance test-based programmes is done considering the candidate's performance in the entrance examination
