Indian Institute Of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (abbreviated IIT BHU) is a public engineering institution located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. IIT BHU Varanasi has 14 departments and three inter-disciplinary schools. Admission to IIT BHU is entirely based on the ranks obtained in JEE Advanced, GATE or GPAT. IIT (BHU) Varanasi Admission 2020: Application Form, Eligibility, Admission Process

Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, IIT (BHU) became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was in 2012 when the institute was designated as an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). 

The institute is located near the Ganges in Varansi. It has qualified around 11000 students till date. Among which most are working in IT and E-Commerce firms such as Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Intel Corporation, Accenture, Infosys, Amazon, Flipkart, etc.

Applicants seeking admission in the institute can apply for B.Tech and Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech programs at UG level and M.Tech, M.Pharm and Ph.D programs at PG level. Admission to UG programs is based on the valid score in JEE Advanced. Further, seats are allotted through JoSAA Counselling.

For securing admission in M.Tech, applicants need to register through COAP on the basis of GATE score. While, M.Pharm admission is based on the GPAT score.
