Dr Chenraj Roychand, an esteemed educationist and entrepreneur, founded the Jain University as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC) in 1990. It was granted the status of a 'deemed to be university' in 2009 and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) awarded it 'A' grade in 2017. The university's academic structure comprises 17 centres and schools that offer various doctoral, postgraduate and undergraduate courses. As per the Nielsen Best Universities Survey by India Today, it is counted amongst India's top universities.

Jain University Admission

Admission to all UG and PG programmes offered by Jain University is granted based on the candidate's performance in the Jain Entrance Test (JET), held by the university. JET includes a written test followed by a group discussion and then a personal interview. To appear in JET, admission seekers will have to fill an application form either online or by purchasing the form from the admission office. Once the filled form is submitted and the non-refundable application fee is paid, candidates will be notified about the venue, date and time of the JET. Only those eligible for admission will be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

To be eligible for taking admission in a PG programme, an applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution with an aggregate score of at least 50%. Students who have qualified their 12th exams from a recognised board are considered eligible for taking admission in a UG programme. Only the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and clear all three stages of the JET will be granted admission.
