Kishinchand Chellaram College Arts, Commerce And Science, Mumbai was established in 1954 under the aegis of the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, H(S)NC Board. It is affiliated to University of Mumbai and recognised by Government of Maharashtra. It was the second institution that the Management set up in Bombay after it relocated itself in the city, following the aftermath of Partition. It is reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The aim of the college is to make each student techno savvy so as to enable him/her to stand out in this increasingly technological world.

Kishinchand Chellaram College is a prestigious educational institution located in Mumbai’s Churchgate area. It was established in 1954 by the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board. The college received its permanent affiliation with the University of Mumbai. It is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and UGC, New Delhi.

KC College offers a plethora of courses in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce and Mass Media at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. It is a NAAC ‘A’ Grade accredited institute with approval from the UGC on all its courses.

• Candidates must register with the University of Maharashtra before applying at the institute level, with exception being Ph.D. admissions, which are conducted at the institute level.
• The application fee can be paid via online payment modes such as credit/ debit card, net-banking etc. Ph.D. application fee can be paid in cash or DD.
• Only science stream candidates (PCM/B) are eligible to pursue the B.Sc. programs offered by the institute.
• Candidates with a valid UGC-NET or JRF score are eligible for direct admission the Ph.D. programs.

Kishinchand Chellaram College, Mumbai, offers undergraduate level degree courses to eligible candidates in the disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Science, Mass Media and Management Studies. The institute conducts BA, B.Sc. and B.Com courses with various specializations, including a Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) and a Bachelor degree in Management Studies (BMS) programs. It also offers a BA Journalism program with specialization in Film, TV, New Media and Production.

Candidates applying for the aforesaid programs must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board in order to be eligible. KC College MA, M.Sc., M.Com Admission 2020

The College currently offers a MA program in Hindi, M.Sc. (Papers) programs in Microbiology, IT and Chemistry, M.Sc. (Research) courses in Microbiology and Chemistry, an M.Com. program with specialization in Advance Accountancy, and a MA Journalism program with specializations in Communication & Journalism, and Entertainment, Media & Advertising.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these courses is a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant or allied disciplines from a recognized institute (or university). Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria specified for the concerned program.

Key Points:

• For admission to M.Sc. courses, candidates are further evaluated at the institute level by means of a personal interview.
• Only B.Sc. and B.Tech candidates are eligible to pursue the M.Sc. courses.
• Candidates appearing in the final year exam of their qualifying program are also eligible to apply.

KC College Ph.D. Admissions 2020

Kishinchand Chellaram College offers doctoral level program in the disciplines of Arts and Science. The institute currently offers Ph.D. programs in the Hindi language in the Arts discipline, and in Organic Chemistry and Nuclear Radiochemistry for Science.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline/ subject with a minimum aggregate of 50 percentile marks. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit of entrance test marks secured by the applicants, followed by personal interview.

Aspiring Ph.D. scholars may reach the institute and obtain the physical copy of the application form for Ph.D. applications. The same must be submitted, duly filled, along with a research proposal and copies of relevant documents supporting his/ her eligibility.

Key Points:

• UGC-NET/ JRF qualified are exempted from taking the entrance exam.
• However, Interview is mandatory for all candidates for Ph.D. program.
• The final selection of Ph.D. candidates is based on the viability of his/ her research proposal, entrance test score and performance in the personal interview.

The application process for admission to degree courses offered by Kishinchand Chellaram College is as per University of Mumbai guidelines. Prospective candidates can register online through the University of Mumbai website. The detailed process of application if as follows:

• Candidates must navigate to the online application page and create a Username and Password by hitting the “Register” button. 
• All requisite particulars in the registration form must be filled correctly.
• The applicant must choose Kishinchand Chellaram College as the preferred choice of college in the registration form.
• After online submission of the application form, candidate must take printouts of the Submission Copy and the Student Copy.
• The submission copy has to be attached to the admission form of KC College, and the Student Copy must be retained by candidate for future correspondence.
• The admission form for KC College can be obtained by contacting the institute in person.
• Candidate is required to enter valid phone number and email address for communication purpose.
