Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith Or MGKVP, established in 1921 is a public university, inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1921. MGKVP, situated in Varanasi is run by the state government of Uttar Pradesh and is one of the largest universities in the state.  The University offers varied programs ranging from Arts, Science, Commerce, to Law, Computing and Management.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) Admission 2020: Courses, Application Process, Time Table, Result

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) is a public University established in 1921. MGKVP offers a range of Professional and Academic courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Computing and Management. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of MGKVP on payment of INR 500 (INR 400 for SC/ST) as application fee.

• For all the UG courses those candidates who have done 10+2 in relevant discipline are eligible to apply.
• For all the PG courses those candidates who have done 3 year UG course in respective discipline are eligible to apply.
• For B.P.Ed, candidate should have done UG with Physical Education as a major subject, for LLB those candidates who have done graduation with not less than 45%in aggregate (40% marks in case of SC and ST category candidates) are eligible to apply. 
• For M.P.Ed, those candidates who have done B.P.Ed or equivalent with at least 50% are eligible to apply. For LLM those candidates who have done an LL.B./Five-Year Integrated LL.B. /any other equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55%in aggregate (50% marks in case of SC and ST category candidates).
• For M.Ed the candidate should have done B.Ed/BA-B.Ed/B.Sc-B.Ed with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). For M.Lib the candidate should have done graduation in B.Lib-ISc.
• Selection in each course is done on the basis of an entrance exam. Entrance exam will be of 200 marks and of 2 hours duration. For M.PEd, B.PEd, B. Music, M.Music, BFA, MFA candidates will have to sit for practical test of 100 marks. Final merit will be made considering marks in the practical test.
• Reservation of 21%,2% and 27% are given to SC, ST and OBC respectively. Horizontal reservation of 3% is provided to PWD candidates. Benefit of reservation will be provided to candidates of UP domicile only.

MGKVP UG Admission 2020

Admission to all the UG courses is done on the basis of Entrance Examination conducted by the University. All the candidates who have done Intermediate or equivalent before 2015 are not eligible to apply.

For BA, BFA course, Candidates who have passed Intermediate are eligible to apply. 

Entrance examination for all the UG courses will be conducted offline on various dates. Based on the performance of the candidates in the exam merit list will be prepared and final admission will be done on the basis of this merit list only.

Admission is done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the entrance.

MGKVP PG Admission 2020

Admission to all PG courses is done on the basis of Entrance Examination conducted by the University. For all the courses in PG those candidates who have cleared 3 years under graduate degree course in the respective discipline of admission are eligible to apply.

Entrance examination for all the UG courses will be conducted offline on various dates. Based on the performance of the candidates in the exam merit list will be prepared and final admission will be done on the basis of this merit list only.

Application fees for the UG courses is INR 500/- for UR and OBC and 400/- for SC/ST and for the PG/UG Diploma courses, PG and M.Phil Courses is INR 600/- for UR and OBC and INR 500/- for SC/ST candidates.

MGKVP Reservation Details 2020

Reservation of 21%, 2% and 27% are given to SC, ST and OBC respectively. Horizontal reservation of 3% is provided to PWD candidates, 2% reservation is provided to dependents of Freedom fighters and 5% is provided to dependents of Retired Army personnel and J&K migrants. 20% seats are reserved for the women candidates. Benefit of reservation will be provided to candidates of UP domicile only.
