Nehru Gram Bharati University [NGBU], Allahabad, also known as Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya, Allahabad, also comprising Rajiv Gandhi Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya is a deemed to be university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. NGBU is accredited by NAAC with a B+ grade and has all the other mandatory approvals required from different councils like BCI for the various courses it runs.

The foundation stone of “Nehru Gram Bharati” was laid by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1962 to fulfill the need of vocational, technical and professional education. The NGBU degree college was established in 1996 by Shri G.D. Memorial Trust with the mission of being a global, socially conscious and an integrated university. NGBU is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with registration no. 1117/2006-2007.

NGBU Faculty of Arts

NGBU Faculty of Arts offers various disciplines including B.A., B.P.A. (Music), B.S.W., M.A., M.Mus., M.S.W., and M.J.M.C. The university also offers a B.A. degree in journalism and mass communication. NGBU Faculty of Arts also offers PG diploma courses to its students.

Eligibility Criterion:

NGBU eligibility criterions are very simple. For the graduation courses, students should have cleared their 10+2 examinations and for the master degree courses, they should have a relevant bachelor’s degree.

NGBU Faculty of Sciences and Social Sciences

NGBU Faculty of Science is divided into 5 departments,

The faculties of science and social sciences focus on the B.Sc. degree, M.Sc., B.Lib.I.Sc. and M.Lib.I.Sc.

NGBU faculty of sciences and social sciences requires its undergraduate students to have passed senior secondary with science as a compulsory subject and postgraduation students to have a related bachelor’s degree.

Note:

The department of zoology also offers a 1 year (2 semesters) PG diploma course in “Aquaculture Technology and Management”.

NGBU Faculty of Management and CA

The NGBU faculty of management has been a quite active department and they offer the prestigious courses of MBA and BBA. The faculty is well-known for its PG diploma courses in fields like “Retail Management” and “Banking and Finance”. The faculty also offers courses of BCA and MCA.

Eligibility Criterion:

NGBU faculty of management has the same eligibility criterions as the other faculties have. Moreover, for the PG diploma courses, the university also entertains the SAARC graduates from recognized universities.

NGBU Faculty of Engineering and Technology

NGBU faculty of engineering and technology has a lot to offer. They offer B.tech in 4 fields and also have PG diploma courses. The university offers B.Tech in:

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)

Eligibility Criterion:

  1. For B.Tech courses, the students should have cleared their 12th with Physics, Mathematics and one of Chemistry/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. They should have also cleared these papers with minimum 45% marks.
  2. For lateral entry in the second year of B.Tech, the faculty entertains those students also who have done PG diploma or B.Sc. courses. But for them to proceed with engineering, they need to clear the papers of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics along with the second year subjects.

NGBU Opportunities

To facilitate a better education environment to its students, NGBU Allahabad has maintained a network of libraries. With a special book bank facility, NGBU has more than 30,000 books and a seating capacity for more than 100 students. The campus hostel is located in a serene and calm environment.

The students are given ample opportunities to get placed in organizations like the Central Fisheries Department, private sector fisheries industries among many others.

Nehru Gram Bharati University also runs a special Ph.D. programme. The NGBU research center was established in January 2010.

Nehru Gram Bharati University is located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.It was established in the year 2008. The NGBU offer a wide range of under graduate and post graduate programs. For UG programs, applicant must have completed their senior secondary school in the respective or relevant discipline whereas for applying for PG programs, he/she must hold a graduation degree. There are also 4 short terms courses for professional development.

Key Points regarding NGBU Admission:

  • Those who wish to enroll for B.A. and B.Com., programs must have passed their senior secondary school from a recognized school board whereas for B.Sc. courses, he/she must have completed senior secondary school in related or relevant subject.

Nehru Gram Bharati University (NGBU) Admission UG 2020

The admission to the under graduate courses are done on the basis of merit. Of the students’ performance in the written examination conducted by the university. Students must have completed their senior secondary school from a recognized school board to be eligible for admissions.

Applicants can apply offline by getting the application form from the university campus. After the entrance examinations, the students who get selected in the merit list will be called for counselling.

The Bachelor of Arts programmes offered in different subjects are 3 years in duration and have a capacity of 60 for each. The B.Sc for Biology and Maths group  has an intake of 120 students for each group.

Nehru Gram Bharati University (NGBU)  PG Admission  2020

The university enrolls students to post graduate courses through merit based selection procedure. The university conducts an entrance examination and features a merit list based on the students’ performance in the entrance examination. The final round of the selection process is counselling.

Those who are willing to enroll for admission in M.Ed. Special (H.I.), must have obtained an average minimum of 55% marks in B.Ed. Special(H.I.)

The post graudate courses are of 2 years in duration. However, MCA is of 3 years, M.Ed.HI and M.Lib.I.Sc.are of 1 year in duration. While there are 60 seats in MA, M.Mus, MBA, MCA, MSW, LLM, programs, there are only 30 seats in MJMC and M.Lib.I.Sc.

There are 240 seats in the M.Com program.

Candidates must have completed their under graduation to eb eligible to apply for admissions to post graduate programs offered by the university.

M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) is offered at the post graduate level, spread over 2 years. In thir 3rd semester, he/she must select a specialized paper from a given choice of 4 options. After the 2nd semester, he/she must work with an NGO for a period of 6 months.

Admissions to M.A.(Rural Development) requires candidates to be 2nd Class graduates. The university conducts an entrance examination and a counselling round based upon the merit list issued.

The M.Ed. program is a one year course with 25 seats for each academic year. Applicants must have secured an average minimum of 55% marks in B.Ed. exam.

For admissions to B.Ed. Special (H.I.) he/she must have secured an average minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST) in their graudation or post graduation qualifying examination.

The university published a merit list after the entrance examination. The selected students are called for a counselling round as a part of final evaluation round.

In case of Under Graduate Programs, candidates willing to apply for different courses must fill in separate application forms for admissions to B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. (Maths), and B.Sc.(Zoology).
