Also known as Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College Of Commerce And Economics, the foundation of the college draws its root from the time of freedom struggle, when it was realised to have a college having indigenous values. A trust named “Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali” initiated this task in 1940.The highlights of the college are:

• The college got the permanent affiliation from the prestigious University of Mumbai in the year 1950.
• It has been accredited A-grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in 2011.
• It has many distinguished alumni to its credit.

Located centrally in the business hub, it is easily accessible by roadways, railways and airways. Spread over a lush green cover of around 2500 square meters, with a building an area of 5055 square meters. The college has buildings of gothic style with a Clock tower.

Computer Labs-
The computer lab is well equipped with modern facilities and houses more than over 70 computers with modern licensed software to facilitate the appropriate learning of computer systems and application.

Seminar Hall-
The college houses a well maintained and equipped seminar hall with a seating capacity of around 60 persons at a time.

Auditorium-
The college has a well-developed Auditorium. It is also known as Main Hall or Assembly Hall. Equipped with a well-furnished stage along with green room, the hall has a capacity of around 500 students.

Language Lab-
The college also has a dedicate lab for language learning, which has a total of 15 computers installed with dedicated language softwares with accessories such as headphone and mic.

Audio Visual Room-
The college also houses an audio visual room fully equipped with facilities such as LCD, Projectors, Screens, white boards along with internet facilities.

Connectivity Room-
The connectivity rooms has 4 cubicles dedicated to WDC, Extension Unit, Placement Cell and Student Council.

Gymkhana-
The college has a gymkhana which has a well dedicated sections for various sports and activities, which include table tennis, carom, chess and NCC rooms.

Festivals:

• Enigma-  It is annual inter collegiate cultural festival of the college in which the college plays host to students from different parts of the country. The spotlight of the fest are various dance, drama, music, fine arts followed by film fest and quizzes which are intricately and carefully designed and impeovised.
• Moneta- Moneta is the largest financial market event of India. The annual inter college event has received wide acclaims since its conception in 2009. The fest provides the conducive ambience for inculcation of practical approach towards the financial market. The intriguing events of Moneta are Bull ring, Black gold, Synergies, The Conatagion etc.

RA Podar College of Commerce and Economics laid its foundation in the year 1941. Located in the city of Mumbai, the college has acquired permanent affiliation with University of Mumbai. The College offers admission to degree courses of Bachelor’s degree of Management Studies (BMS) and B.Com in three specializations at UG level. The courses have affiliation to University of Mumbai and are self-financed by the college. The selection of the courses shall be affected by merit as per marks secured in 10+2 qualifying examination from ICSE or any other recognized board. Candidates applying from any other board than state of Maharashtra shall obtain Eligibility certificate from Bombay Divisional Board Office at Vashi. Candidates from any stream are eligible to apply.

Key Points for UG Admission:

• Candidates holding Diploma in Engineering of two-year/three-year/four-year duration after 10th conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra state or its equivalent are eligible for the course of BMS.
• As per University norms, the streamwise weightage for selection of candidates in course of BMS is to be given as below:

• In case, if seats remain vacant in under a particular stream then those shall be distributed equally between the remaining two streams for eligible candidates.

Podar College PG Admission 2020

The College offers admission in M.Com in two specializations and Diploma in Management Studies (DMS). The selection of candidates shall be affected on merit basis as per marks secured in the qualifying examination. The minimum eligibility for M.Com is B.Com/ BMS from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. For DMS, candidates need to pass Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from Mumbai University or from any other recognized University.

• Candidates in their final year of bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply provided they submit supporting documents after admission.
• Those applying for DMS course must have clerical work experience for a period of one-year as at the start of the course.
• Candidates who have passed B.Com in a relevant specialization such as Banking & Insurance, Accounting & Finance and Financial Markets or an examination of any other recognized are eligible to apply for M.Com course.

Podar College Application Process 2020

The College shall accept application forms filled through Mumbai University Online Admission Portal. The step by step to apply for a course shall be as explained below:

• Visit the official website of the university.
• Log in to the Online Admission Portal of the University and apply under the “Pre- Admission Online Registration”.
• “Apply Online” by filling up the registration form.
• A verification code and link is sent to the mobile number provided by the candidate as a confirmation to registration.
• Log in again with the same verification code and proceed to fill up the online application form.
• Upload a passport size coloured photograph of the requisite resolution.
• A registration processing fee is to be paid via Demand Draft issued in favour of “The Finance and Accounts Officer, University of Mumbai” payable at Mumbai.
• Submit the print of application form along with necessary enclosures in the college as per the schedule.

• Original School Leaving Certificate
• Original SSC/ ICSE or any other equivalent examination mark-sheet
