Ramnarain Ruia College Of Arts & Science, Mumbai was established in 1937; it was the first college in Mumbai to be started by the Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali, Pune. This college is affiliated to University of Mumbai and conducts courses at undergraduate and graduate (Postgraduate) level.

Extracurricular Activities:

VPM - "Vidyarthi Prathinidhi Mandal" is an umbrella organization having maximum students' representation. Throughout the year the V.P.M. Organizes various programs related to all most every expect of students' life.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):

• This Cell was established in the academic year 1999-2000 and functions on the basis of the guidelines set forth by NAAC
• It work towards improving and maintaining the quality of education, identifying and suggesting new ways of using teaching aids, developing suitable infrastructure and offering suggestions for new self-financing courses

Local Managing Committee (LMC):

• The LMC is a Statutory Body, formed as per Section 85 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994. The powers and duties of LMC are stated in the same.
• The LMC comprises elected representatives of teaching and non-teaching staff, a few representatives of the parent body and experts from various fields and this Committee can make recommendations.

Library

• Library has a rich collection of around 120,000 books including bound volumes of journals
• Library subscribes to 60 national and international journals

Ramnarain Ruia College was founded in 1937 by Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college offers 3 UG courses, viz. B.Sc, B.A and BMM in various specializations. RUIA College also offers various M.Sc and Ph.D. courses at PG and Doctorate level.

• GATE / SET / NET / (JRF) qualified or teacher fellowship holders are exempted from PET.

RUIA College BA, B.Sc & BMM Admission 2020

Ramanarain Ruia College offers BA, B.Sc. and BMM courses at the UG level in various specialization. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for UG courses is 10+2 in the relevant subject group from a recognized board.

Selection is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination followed by a counselling conducted by University of Mumbai. The merit list is prepared by the as per the rules laid down by Mumbai University.

Key Points:

• Candidates must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
• For B.Sc, at least 45% marks are required in 10+2.
• BMM Is offered in both English & Tamil medium.

RUIA College M.Sc Admission 2020

Ramanarain Ruia College offers M.Sc (by papers) and M.Sc (by research) in various specializations at the PG level. B.Sc degree is required for admission to M.Sc program. Admission will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying degree. Final merit list is prepared by the University of Mumbai.

Key Points:

• Selection is nomination based on merit only and is open on an All India basis. Admission is subject to availability of seats.
• For M.Sc in Bioanalytical Sciences admission, an entrance examination is held by the college.
• The relevance of the qualifying degree to the applied course is accepted at the discretion of the university.

RUIA College Ph.D. Admission 2020

Ramnarain College offers Ph.D. in 5 specializations. Candidates can take admission in Ph.D. Courses by submitting an online application form for Ph.D. Eligibility Test of Mumbai University (PET) followed by an interview. For getting into Ph.D., applicants must have completed a Master’s degree or an M.Phil degree from a recognized institution in a relevant field.

Admission for Ph.D. is done in two sessions, January-February session and July-August session. This includes research methodology and subject specific knowledge related to the course.

Candidates fulfilling one of the following criteria will be exempted from Ph.D. entrance test (PET):

• Qualified in GATE / SET / NET / (JRF) Examination / teacher fellowship holder of the apex bodies as CSIR / UGC / ICAR / ICMR / DBT only
• Completed an M. Phil. Degree from University of Mumbai as per the UGC guidelines from time to time.
