SASTRA has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India. DAKSH, the international techno-management festival, is an annual event comprising of a myriad of events involving all trades of engineering. Having started in 2007, DAKSH is running into its eighth edition now. DAKSH presents an opportunity to students from across the globe to display their techno-managerial skills while participating in a plethora of exciting events, assorted workshops, excellent power talks and social responsibility campaigns that are conducted over a period of three days in the month of February.

BIOTIKOS: While the old and fundamental sciences are being literally “researched” to pull out more and more facts and understand them in tremendous detail, there exists a section of research that concentrates on how to apply the results of the former to improve the quality of life on earth. BIOTIKOS activities happen year-round. It has the weekly TECH-FORUM sessions that serve as an excellent model of interaction between the juniors & seniors. 

National Cadet Corps (NCC): NCC Organization - In view of the changing socio-economic environment, an exercise was undertaken by the Ministry of Defence to make aims of NCC in tune with the aspirations of the youth. Training Camps - NCC organizes training camps for students in rural and urban areas. Students who have not got the opportunity for community living, enjoy these camps the most.

Sastra University Admission 2020: Last Date, Admission Procedure

Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, popularly known as Sastra University was the first institution to get the 'Deemed University’ status in Tamil Nadu. It offers various UG, PG and Ph.D. programs in multiple streams such as Engineering, Science, Education, Management, Law and Arts. Application form for all the courses offered by Sastra University can be filled online or offline. This university also imparts education through distance learning. 

To provide equal admission opportunities to the students from different states and districts, the university has reserved 30% of the total available seats for those who have completed their qualifying examination from outside of Tamil Nadu. In addition, the university also has SC/ST/ OBC quota as per the directives of Government of Tamil Nadu.

In order to bring all the candidates from different examining Authorities / Boards at the same scale of comparison during the selection process, a normalization process is followed by the university.

• 70% seats in B.Tech course are filled on the basis of JEE Main score along with prior weightage to the marks in 10+2.
• 30% seats in B.Tech are filled on the basis of merit drawn on the basis of marks in 10+2 followed by counselling. Students can also opt for B.Tech Integrated and Lateral admission.

Sastra University B.Tech Admission 2020

The university offers B.Tech admission under Regular/ Integrated and Lateral Entry modes in various disciplines. 10+2 (PCM/B) with 50% marks is the minimum eligibility criteria for B.Tech (Regular & Integrated) while B.Sc or Diploma in the related discipline is mandatory for B.Tech (Lateral Entry).

For B.Tech (Regular/ Integrated), 70% seats are filled on the basis of JEE Main while the rest 30% seats will be filled on the basis of marks in 10+2. B.Tech (Lateral Entry) admission is based on the marks in 10+2 only.

 Key Points:  

• In the case of admission through JEE Main over 70% seats, 75% weightage will be given to JEE Main score while 25% to the marks in 10+2.
• In the case of admission on the basis of 10+2 merit over 30%seats, normalized marks of each board will be considered.

Sastra University UG Admission 2020: LL.B, BA-LL.B, B.Com-LL.B, B.Com, B.Ed & B.Sc-B.Ed

Sastra University also offers LL.B, BA-LL.B, B.Com-LL.B, B.Com, B.Ed & B.Sc-B.Ed courses in various at UG level. 10+2 is the minimum eligibility criteria for application. CLAT qualified candidates are eligible to apply for LL.B and Integrated Law courses. For other courses, marks in 10+2 will be considered for admission.

Sastra University M.Tech & M.Sc Admission 2020

M.Tech and M.Sc courses are offered for the duration of two years in various specializations at PG level. GATE passed candidates can apply for M.Tech while admission to M.Sc is based on merit only. BE/ B.Tech or M.Sc is the minimum eligibility criteria for M.Tech and B.Sc in the related discipline is mandatory for M.Sc.

Sastra University MBA & MCA Admission 2020

Sastra University also offers MBA and MCA programs at PG level. Graduation is the minimum eligibility required for MBA. Candidates must have studied Mathematics at 10+2 or Graduation level for MCA program. MBA admission is offered through CAT/ XAT/ ATMA or CMAT score while merit is sufficient for MCA. 

Sastra University Ph.D. Admission 2020

Sastra University offers admission to Ph.D. program in three modes, i.e., Full-Time (Internal), Part-Time (Internal). Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission.

Ph.D. registrations are performed quarterly, i.e., in the month of January, April, July and October. Admission is based on the university written test and interview. Final admission is subject to a presentation before the selection committee, work experience and statement of purpose.
