St Joseph's College, Bengaluru was established by Fathers of the French Foreign Mission in 1882. Since the instigation, the college remains to be a centre of excellence for higher education in South India. The college has been accredited with A++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The autonomous college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational courses across disciplines. The BA programmes are offered in English, History, Political Science, Journalism, Economics, Psychology, International Relations & Peace Studies, Sociology, Industrial Relations and Communicative English. The BCom programmes are offered in International Finance and Accounting. 

The BSc programmes are offered in Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, Statistics and Economics. The professional courses in undergraduate level include Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Digital Media and Animation (BDMA), Bachelor of Visual Media and Film-making (BVMF) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). The popular postgraduate programmes in St Joseph's College are MA in Journalism and Communication, MSc in Big Data Analytics, MA in Advertising and Public Relations and MSW in Community Development & Medical Psychiatry.

St. Joseph's College Admission Process 

Students can apply online for admission in various courses in St Joseph's College, Bengaluru. The selected candidates are intimated through email and SMS for appearing in an interview. To take admissions in BA (Visual Communication), EJP (English, Journalism and Psychology), BCA, BVoc (Digital media & animation) and BVoc (Visual media & film making), students are required to qualify an entrance test. 

The entrance tests are generally held in the month of May. The tests include objective (MCQs) and subjective types of questions. There is no entrance test for all other undergraduate programmes. To take admission in MA Journalism & Communication/ Economics/English and MSW (Master of Social Work) programmes, applicants are required to qualify an entrance test held in May. Other postgraduate programmes do not require any entrance test.
