The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University (BU). The College offers Bachelor and Master degree in Arts, Science and Commerce. The objective of the college is to improve student’s progression by developing their professional, communication and presentation skills. The College conducts many activities like NSS (strength- 200 students), Youth Red Cross (YRC), Consumer Club, Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Eves Club to increase the involvement of students in social activities.

Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidyalaya Trust was founded by late Sri.D.Balasundaram a pioneer industrialist of Coimbatore, in the year 1980 with three more enthusiastic trust members Mrs.Kamalam Balasundaram, Mr.B.Jayachandran and Smt.Dhanalakshmi Jayachandran. The trust originated in the name of the Jagath Guru Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Swamigal, in order to impart perfection in education, purity of thought, discipline, value, culture and tradition of our country in order to attain universal brotherhood among students.

The trust has glorious history of its school, Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School. It claims itself to be a character building and value based foundation that draws inspiration from life and teaching of Adi Sankara since 1980. There is a great emphasis on including new methods of teaching through latest technologies, in order to make education more consequential and contemporary. The school has pioneered in introducing ‘X-Seed’ (from STD LKG to V) and ‘EDURITE’ (from VI to XII). It greatly emphasize on work with practical orientation and curricular experimentation. Mr. B.Jayachandran - a Mechanical engineer trained in Germany in the manufacture of high precision machine tools is the son of the Legendry Sri D.Balasundaram, founder of Textool Company Ltd, one of the biggest Textile machinery manufacturer in India in the late 60’s and 70’s . Mr.B.Jayachandran developed the first Indian indigenous automobile diesel engine in the year 1970 and the first indigenous passenger car “Mayura” in the year 1986. He is the Chairman of Jayem Automotives Ltd., an extension of Tata Motors Research & Development wing and the Director of Measure all Engg. Pvt. Limited and IRIS Engg. Industries Limited. Mr.B.Jayachandran is also the Chairman of Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidyalaya Trust, which runs CBSE, Matriculation Higher Secondary Schools and a College of Arts and Science.
