Stella Matutina College of Education (SMCE) is the pioneer Institution in the field of teacher education. It is a full fledged college imparting programmes in B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil, and Ph.D., Degree courses. The College aim to improve the quality of school education in India, in general and Tamil Nadu in particular by producing quality women teachers. This college give students a foundation in the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching. In April 2000, the college was accorded 5-star accreditation for producing quality teachers, by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
