Thiagarajar College, Madurai, is a college set up by the K.K. Thiagarajan Chettiar and is maintained by his trust funds. The college was established with one goal in mind, to help in uplifting the masses by providing them with quality higher education. The main focus of this college is to equip their students with the knowledge to help them prepare for the ups and downs of today’s competitive corporate world. The basic thought process is that the education must be achieved and not forced. Keeping with this, the teaching system is such that it generates curiosity and enquiry. This is only helped by the facilities and the learning environment provided to the students. Also, the curriculum has been designed meticulously to help the students achieve their maximum potential.

Thiagarajar College, in Madurai in the state of Tamil Nadu was established in 1949. The college is a private, aided, co-educational institution affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. It is managed by the Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar Memorial Trust. Thiagarajar College offers courses in both Self finance and Aided streams.

Thiagarajar College offers 11 undergraduate courses and 8 courses are offered at postgraduate level. The institute also offers 4 M.Phil. courses and Ph.D. programs. In self finance stream, 8 UG, 5 PG, and 5 M.Phil courses are offered. Additionally, 12 certificate and 11 diploma courses are also offered in self-finance stream. 

• The application process for all the courses is conducted in offline mode.
• For UG courses, candidates must have passed HSC from a recognized institute with the concerned subject.
• For all the PG courses, they must have a graduation degree in a three year course.

Thiagarajar College offers three-year BA, B.Sc, B.Com and BBA and B.Com course in several specializations. Those candidates who have passed HSC from a recognized board along with the concerned subject of admission are eligible to apply for admission.

Admission to UG courses is on the basis of merit list which is prepared considering candidate’s performance in the 10+2 exam. The college offers courses in two streams i.e. Aided and Self Financed.

At Postgraduate level Thiagarajar College offers MA, M.Sc and M.Com courses, each of two years duration. Minimum eligibility for admission to PG courses is graduation in the concerned discipline.

Seats to the PG courses will be allotted on the basis of merit and the merit list will be drawn up based on candidates’ performance in the graduation degree course.

• Courses are offered in two streams self financed and aided.
• Selection to PG courses is on the basis of candidate’s performance in the qualifying exam.

Thiagarajar College offers both M.Phil and Ph.D. courses. Both M.Phil i.e. one year course and Ph.D i.e. two or three year courses are offered in Arts, Science and Commerce disciplines in various specializations.

Candidates applying must have passed Master’s degree course in the relevant discipline.Selection is given considering candidate's overall academic performance and departmental interview.

Thiagarajar College Diploma And Certificate Courses Admission 2020

Thiagarajar College offers diploma and certificate courses in various disciplines.Those candidates who have passed graduation in a relevant discipline from a recognized institute are eligible for the PG diploma courses.

The courses are only offered in Self Finance stream. Selection to the diploma and certificate courses is on the basis of merit.

Candidates seeking admission to any of the UG, PG, Research, diploma and Certificate courses can obtain the application form at the college office. After filling the application form, candidates need to send the application form through post or in person to the college on or before the last date for submission.
