The University of Allahabad, informally known as Allahabad University (AU) was established on September 23rd, 1887. Allahabad University is the fourth oldest university in India after Calcutta, Bombay and Madras University. Allahabad University UG Admission 2020: LL.B, BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BFA, BPA

Allahabad University conducts UGAT to provide admission in BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BFA and BPA courses at undergraduate level. The minimum eligibility criteria is a pass in 10+2 in the relevant subject group from a recognized board.

Only UGAT qualified candidates are eligible to take admission in University departments & its constituent colleges. UGAT is a combined entrance test, conducted in online as well as offline modes. UGAT is generally conducted in the month of May and June every year. Application form can be filled online on payment of INR 700 (INR 350 for SC/ST/PH) as application fee.

Key Points:

• There will be a separate entrance test for B.Sc Home Science program. Only female candidates are allowed to opt this course.
• Candidates are required to register online for UGAT from the official website of university followed by uploading of a scanned copy of colored photograph & signature (3.5 cm X 4.5 cm) in JPEG/JPG format. (Size should not be more than 80Kb.)

Details of Allahabad University UGAT Entrance Exam

Students seeking admission to BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BFA & BPA programs, have to appear in an Entrance Exam (UGAT) in the concerned subject. A merit list will be prepared for the successful candidates on the basis of their marks in entrance. Marks will be computed as given under:

If two or more students score same marks then their relative merit will be determined on the basis of below-mentioned factors:

• Marks obtained in the qualifying (10+2) or equivalent exam.
• In case, the marks obtained by two students in 10+2 examination are equal then marks obtained by them in High School (10th) will be taken into account.

Allahabad University PG Admission 2020: M.Ed, MBA, MA, M.Sc, MPA, MFA, M.P.Ed, M.Tech & M.Com

Allahabad University offers a wide range of courses at the postgraduate level. Candidates are required to apply for Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT) to secure admission.

PGAT is divided into two group, i.e. PGAT – I and PGAT – II. PGAT – I is conducted for conventional courses while PGAT – II is conducted for specialized/non-conventional courses. UOA also offers admission to MBA (RD) on the basis of Written Test and GD & PI.

Allahabad University M.Phil, D.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2020

M.Phil and D.Phil programs are offered by Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute, a constituent of Allahabad University. UOA also offers Ph.D. in Business Administration in association with AMU.

The minimum eligibility criteria for these courses is a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized board. Students have to appear in CRET conducted by Allahabad University to secure admission in M.Phil and D.Phil. Regular teachers of Allahabad University or of any other institution are exempted from appearing in CRET. Admission of candidates to Ph.D. (Business Administration) is based on the score obtained in RMAT conducted by AIMA.

Note: Students can register online for Ph.D. (Business Administration) by visiting the official website of AIMA. Application fee (INR 1500) can be paid by Credit/ Debit card or through DD drawn in favor of ‘AIMA’ payable at New Delhi.

Allahabad University CRET Exam Pattern

CRET is divided into two levels, Level 1 & Level 2. Level 1 comprises two papers with objective type questions.

Note: Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer & one-mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Paper 1 is of general nature to check the teaching & research aptitude of the candidate. The motive of this test is to analyze the Reasoning ability, divergent thinking, comprehension & general awareness of the candidate.

Paper 2, is completely dedicated to subject-specific knowledge of the candidate.

Allahabad University D.Phil Selection Process

Allahabad University conducts CRET to provide admission to D.Phil program. There are separate qualifying marks criteria for General/OBC & SC/ST/PH category candidates:

1. CRET is divided into two levels, i.e., Level 1 and Level 2.
2. Level 1 is further bifurcated into two papers, i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2.
3. Candidates need to clear both the papers of level 1 in order to be eligible to appear for level 2 exam
4. Students must note that for level 2, marks of Paper 2 of Level 1 will only be considered.

Note: Students have to obtain at least 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/PH) in Paper 1 & Paper 2 of level 1. If a candidate, fails to maintain 40% marks then it is mandatory to secure at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PH) in both the papers collectively.

Exemptions from CRET

1. Candidates who have qualified NET conducted by UGC & CSIR will be exempted from the paper I of Level I of CRET examination.
2. Candidates looking for D.Phil in the department of Earth Science with a valid GATE score of not less than 75% will be exempted from the paper I of Level I provided they already have an M.Sc degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Geophysics.
3. Serving Army, Navy and Airforce officers with not less than 15 years of service, holding the rank of colonel in the army or equivalent rank in the Navy, looking for admission in D.Phil in Defence Studies will also be exempted from level 1 of CRET.

Allahabad University LL.B Admission (LAT) 2020

Allahabad University conducts Law Admission Test (LAT) to offer admission in LL.B program in its constituent colleges namely,  Chaudhary Mahadeo Prasad Degree College (CMP Degree College) & Allahabad Degree College (ADC). In order to appear for LAT, students a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 45% marks (OBC-42% & SC/ST-40%) in aggregate is required.

Note: Foreign National /Non-Resident Indian (i.e., a citizen of India domiciled abroad) and who have graduated from a foreign university, are exempted from appearing in the Admission Test and will be considered for admission on the basis of qualifying degree merit.

Allahabad University BA LL.B Admission (LFAT) 2020

Allahabad University offers a five-year integrated BA-LL.B (Honours) program. Students have to qualify in All India Law Entrance Test (LFAT) to secure admission in this course. Students must have passed 10+2 or 11+1 course certified by the Bar Council of India from a recognized board with 45%, 42%, 40% marks in aggregate for General, OBC & SC/ST categories respectively.

Application forms can be filled & submitted online by paying the application fee of INR 1200 for General/OBC & INR 600 for SC/ST/PH.
