Lucknow University Admissions
The university provides a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses in multiple disciplines. The university offers various UG programs including BA, B.Com, LL.B, and BCA whereas PG programs viz. M.Com, LL.M, M.Sc., MVA, and MCA. The university also offers research programs such as Ph.D. in different departments. Admissions to all the courses are done on the basis of various entrance exams, applicants to take admission to any of the courses must register themselves.

Selection Procedure
Candidates are shortlisted for all the programs on the basis of marks obtained in the university level entrance exam. LU UG admissions are mainly done on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the university itself. The brief of the selection procedure of each course is given below:

- B.Tech aspirants are admitted on the basis of score occupied in UPSEE and B.Ed. admission is done on UPJEE B.Ed exam.
- MTTM and MBA admissions are done on the entrance exam basis – marks obtained in LUMET or CAT followed by GDPI round – Group Discussion and Personal Interview
- Selection of other postgraduate programs like M.Sc., MA., M.Com, LLM, MVA, M.Lib.Sc., and M.P.Ed. are done on entrance exam basis conducted by the university followed by Personal Interview
- LU M.Ed. Entrance Test is conducted for M.Ed. admissions, aspirants will be shortlisted for Personal Interview round after successfully cracking the entrance.
- Ph.D. admissions are done on the basis of entrance test conducted by the university. The selection procedure depends on the candidate’s past academic records, the proposal on the desired research area, and personal interview.

Lucknow University Facilities
- Tagore Library: It is the Central Research library of the University. It is respected as one of the oldest, well organized and richest libraries in India.
- Auditorium: The Auditorium is the home to all the big events that take place at the University. From Seminars to conferences, Cultural programs to fests, everything is held in the auditorium.
- Hostel: The University has sixteen hostels and provides separate accommodation for boys and girls. The hostel rooms are allotted on a twin-sharing basis and the present capacity is nearly 3000 inmates.
- Central Facility for Computational Research (CFCR) (Computer Cluster): The CFCR Computer cluster contains one master node and five compute nodes. Each node consists of 16 processors making a total of 96 cores. The software that is currently installed is Gaussian 09, MATLAB and Mathematica.

The university offers various UG programs including BBA, BVA, BFA, B.Sc, BA, B.Com, BCA and B.Li.Sc on the basis of entrance test. Eligible candidates who clear the university entrance test are intimated for counselling round on the basis of their merit.
Entrance Test for all the UG courses comprises of 100 MCQs for the duration of 90 minutes except for Faculty of Arts courses for which the test duration is 60 minutes for 50 MCQs. Each question carries four marks for a correct response while one-marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.

Important Points Regarding Entrance Test:
- The entrance test will comprise of 100 objective type questions to be answered in 90 minutes.
- For the faculty of Fine Arts, the entrance test will comprise of 50 objective type questions to be answered in 60 minutes.
- Each question will be of 4 marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Zero marks will be awarded for each un-attempted question.
- There will be questions from subjects that are taught in the intermediate level in various boards like UP board, ICSE and CBSE.

Lucknow University counseling process involves the following steps:

Lucknow University offers full-time Ph.D program in various specializations of Arts, Commerce, ducation, Fine Arts, Law, Science, Ayurveda, and Engineering courses. The duration of Ph.D courses offered by Lucknow University is 3 years.
Eligibility:
A Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
An equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency is also valid for admission.
A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for reserved categories.
Selection Process
Ph.D admission will be granted on the basis of a valid score in CET (Centralised Entrance Test) and a following interview. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
The overall merit list would be prepared on basis of marks obtained in the written test and interview. This list would be displayed on the University’s website as well as on the departmental/ Institute’s Notice Board.
In the final merit candidates would be given a weightage of 70 % to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview.
