HORTICET 2020 is a renowned pre-agriculture exam for candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, which is a four year UG degree program, at Dr. YSRHU.
- HORTICET 2020 is tentatively scheduled for July 18, 2020 in offline mode in Telugu language.
- Before the submission of application form, candidates must carefully read and understand eligibility criteria for appearing in HORTICET 2020.
- Candidates can fill HORTICET Application Form from the First week of June in offline mode only.
- HORTICET 2020 exam pattern will consist of 200 objective type questions.
- Candidate will secure 1 mark for each correct answer, while there is no negative marking.
- Diploma holders will be granted 15% of seats (47 seats) in B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture
- Above seats will be divided into two sections on the basis of rules of Government of Andhra Pradesh – local candidates will get 85% of seats, while 15% of seats will be treated as unreserved quota

HORTICET 2020 Exam Dates
Dr. YSRHU will be released a notification, inviting candidates to fill the application form for appearing in HORTICET 2020, to secure admission into 4-year B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture course offered by the university. Given below tentative schedule of the exam:

HORTICET 2020 Eligibility
Before the submission of application form for HORTICET 2020, candidates must carefully read and understand eligibility criteria for appearing in HORTICET 2020. Eligibility criteria for exam are formulated by Dr. YSRHU. Following are the important eligibility criteria points to be understood –
- Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India
- Minimum Age: Candidate must turn 17 years before or on 31st December of the year of admission
- Maximum Age Limit: For candidates belonging to General or Backward Class (BC), maximum permissible age to appear for HORTICET 2020 is 22 years. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories, maximum age limit has been relaxed to 25 years as per government norms. Furthermore, for physically handicapped candidates, upper age limit has been further relaxed till 27 years as per government norms
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have necessarily passed Diploma in Horticulture course from Dr. YSRHU. Also, candidates who will be completing their Diploma in academic year 2016-17, are eligible to apply for HORTICET 2020. However, candidate will have to submit his/her Final Memorandum of Marks-cum-Pass Certificate of Diploma in Horticulture during counselling process
HORTICET 2020 Application Form
A notification will be issued by Dr. YSRHU for submission of application form. Candidates will have to submit application form through offline mode only. Candidates will have to take a print out of application form, subsequent to downloading it. Application form must be very carefully and correctly filled. Once submitted, candidates will not be allowed to make any changes in application form. Following are the steps to submit application form –
- Go to the official website of Dr. YSRHU - https://www.drysrhu.edu.in/
- Click on ‘More Announcements’ tab on right hand pane of webpage
- Under Announcements, search for ‘HORTICET - 2020 – NOTIFICATION’ and click on it
- HORTICET 2020 notification will get downloaded in pdf format. Therefore, candidates must ensure that Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed on their system
- Open the downloaded pdf file
- After initial notification, containing important details regarding HORTICET 2020, candidate will be able to find Application Form for exam in the same file
- Candidate will have to take a print out of Application form
- Below application form, candidate can find the list of documents that need to be enclosed with filled application form, before sending it to conducting authority. Candidate will have to take a print out of this page as well.
- Candidate will also have to take print out of two copies of admit cards given on the next page.
- Candidate needs to carefully and correctly fill all details in Application form and admit cards.

- Every candidate needs to get an original demand draft made, payable at Tadepalligudem, on any Nationalized Bank. Demand draft has to be made in favor of ‘Dr. Y.S.R HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY’
- Candidates from General and SC categories will have to get INR 600 demand draft made, while amount for candidates belonging to Sc and ST categories is INR 300

- Latest Conduct Certificate from Head of the Institute last attended
- Latest Caste Certificate (In case of SC/ST/BC’s) issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer
- Certificates issued by the concerned authorities of State in the case of Special categories like PHC (Differently abled), NCC,SPORTS and CAP
- Two self-addressed stamped (INR 5 postal stamp) envelopes for sending the admit card
- Candidate will then have to send application form, admit cards, demand draft and all relevant enclosures to ‘The Registrar, Dr.Y.S.R Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem-534101, W.G.Dt., Andhra Pradesh’
- All documents should reach the above address on or before June 28, 2020 by 4:00 p.m.
- Documents can be submitted by hand or by post
- The University does not assume any responsibility for delay in receiving post
The University can reject application form on the following basis
- If application form is incomplete
- If application form is not accompanied by proper Demand Draft
- If candidate does not meet eligibility criteria
- If application form is received after the due date
Application Fee
Application fee will have to be paid by all candidates at the time of filling application form. Fee will be paid through demand draft, which will be payable at Tadepalligudem, on any Nationalized Bank. Demand draft has to be made in favor of ‘Dr. Y.S.R HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY’. There is no other mode of making fee payment. No cash or online mode of payment will be acceptable. Following is the amount of demand draft to be made by candidates belonging to different categories

HORTICET 2020 Admit Card/Hall Ticket
Dr. YSRHU will declare the list of eligible candidates for HORTICET 2020 on the official website of the University. The list will also contain Hall ticket number of each eligible candidate.
- Candidates will be sent hall ticket by post on the correspondence address mentioned in application form
- Hall ticket will be sent in the self-addressed stamped envelope sent with application form.

- No candidate will be allowed to enter examination center without in possession of admit card
Download Admit Card/Hall Ticket
All eligible candidates will receive admit card by post from the University. However, in case candidate does not receive admit card by post, he/she can download it from the University’s official website. Following steps can be used to download admit card-

HORTICET 2020 will be conducted on July 18, 2020 only at one examination center –

HORTICET 2020 Exam Pattern
HORTICET 2020 will be conducted from 10 am to 12 pm at the aforementioned center. Candidates will be required to answer only objective type questions. Examination will be conducted only through pen and paper mode. Candidates will have to answer 200 MCQs in Telugu language in 2 hours. For each correct answer, candidate will get 1 mark. There will be no negative marking for incorrect or unanswered questions. Each candidate can score a maximum of 200 marks on HORTICET 2020

HORTICET 2020 Result
Result for HORTICET 2020 is likely to be declared by the University in July 2020. Dr. YSRHU has not yet revealed any specific date for declaration of result

- Result will be declared in the form of both score card and rank list, prepared solely on the basis of marks secured in HORTICET 2020
Download Merit List
Candidate can download the merit list that will be published by the University on its official website by following these steps-

- Click on ‘More Announcements’ tab on right hand pane of webpage
- Under Announcements, search for ‘HORTICET – 2020 Rank List’ and click on it
- Rank list will be downloaded
- The list will contain the Hall ticket No of Candidate, Name of Candidate, Name of Candidate’s Father and Rank secured by candidate
- In case more than one candidate secure same marks in HORTICET 2020, following ways will be used to dissolve the tie-break
- Candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks (OGPA) in Diploma in Horticulture course
- In case, tie-break still persists, preference will be given to elder candidate

HORTICET 2020 Cut Off
Cut off for HORTICET 2020 will not be officially disclosed by the University. However, candidates will have to achieve minimum marks threshold established by Dr. YSRHU to be eligible to appear in rank list.
- For candidates belonging to General and BC categories, qualify percentage of marks is 25% of aggregate marks
- No minimum qualifying benchmark has to be met by candidates from Sc and ST categories for appearing in ranking list for HORTICET 2020
HORTICET 2020 Counselling
Counselling process for HORTICET 2020 is likely to begin in August 2020. Those candidates will be eligible for counselling, whose name is mentioned in the merit list. The University will publish the date of counselling on its official website. Candidates will have to carry the following documents while going for counselling –
- Mark Sheet of 10th class
- Mark sheet of Diploma in Horticulture from Dr. YSRHU
- Age Proof
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Scorecard of HORTICET 2020
Allotment of seats will be done completely on the basis of marks scored in HORTICET 2020 and verification of documents. However, the University will follow reservation rule established by Government of Andhra Pradesh. As per the rules, 85% seats will be allotted to candidates from Andhra Pradesh, while the remaining 15% will be allotted to candidates from outside Andhra Pradesh.
