4 years ago - EXAM - All India - 495 viewsNTA will conduct UGC NET 2020 June session in two slots each on multiple days from June 15 – 20, 2020 to determine candidates’ eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorship. As per UGC NET 2020 Eligibility, candidates possessing a post-graduate degree with 55% marks are eligible to apply for UGC NET 2020.
UGC NET 2020 Application Form will be released on March 16, 2020 at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The application fee is INR 1000 for General, INR 500 for OBC and EWS categories and INR 250 for SC, ST, PWD and Transgenders.
As per UGC NET Paper Pattern, the exam consisted of two papers, Paper 1 is common to all and Paper 2 is opted by the candidates from 81 subjects. Both the papers had to be completed in 3 hours without any break. UGC NET Paper 1 Syllabus consists of reasoning, numerical and teaching ability and Paper 2 syllabus is purely based on the subject chosen by candidates.

Candidates have to score 40% marks (35% for reserved candidates) together in Paper 1 and Paper 2 to qualify the exam. A total of 10,34,872 candidates had registered in UGC NET December 2019 session, out of which 7,93,813 appeared and 60,147 exam takers qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only whereas 5,092 qualified for both JRF & eligible for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates willing to apply for UGC NET June 2020 have to fulfill certain eligibility conditions laid down by NTA. UGC NET Eligibility is based on the academic qualification and age limit as described below:
UGC NET 2020 Educational Qualification Requirement
- Candidates must have scored at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in their Post Graduation or equivalent from any recognized university.
- Final year students are also eligible to appear in the exam. However, they will be considered for award of JRF or professorship after they pass their qualifying exam with minimum marks.
- Ph.D. degree holders whose post graduation exam was completed before September 19, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) are provided an additional relaxation of 5% in minimum marks requirement.
UGC NET 2020 Age Limit
Assistant Professorship: There is no age limit for UGC NET Assistant Professorship.
Junior Research Fellowship: The upper age age limit is 30 years as on June 1, 2020.
However, age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates as per government of India norms.

Candidates can fill UGC NET 2020 Application Form in online mode only at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Visit the official website and click on Apply online to fill the registration page.
- Enter your personal details, email ID and mobile number.
- Post registration, a system generated application number will be sent on the email Id and mobile number.
- Login again and select your subject, position and preferred exam center.
- Now, upload your photograph and signature in specified format.
- Make application fee payment either through debit card/ credit card/ netbanking or paytm
- Final step is to download 4 copies of filled in application form and e-receipt of fee payment for further reference.
Note: NTA will open a form correction window from April 25 – May 2, 2020 for candidates to make any corrections in the application form.

UGC NET 2020 Admit Card
UGC NET Admit Card for June 2020 session will be issued on May 15, 2020. Candidates can download UGC NET 2020 Admit Card only from the official website- ugcnet.nta.nic.in by logging in with their registration number and date of birth. UGC NET 2020 Admit Card will specify candidate’s name, roll number, category, photograph, signature, allotted exam date, time and center.
Steps to Download UGC NET 2020 Hall Ticket
- Visit the official website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the link “Click Here for Login for Admit Card”.
- Login with “Application Number” & “Password”.
- The admit card will be displayed on the screen.
- Download it and take a printout for further reference.
UGC NET 2020 Exam Centers
- UGC NET Exam will be conducted in 224 cities this June.
- Candidates have to indicate 4 exam cities in order of their preference while filling UGC NET 2020 Application Form
- NTA will try to allot the most preferred exam center to the candidate.
- However, it reserves the right to allot any exam center other the ones selected by the candidates.
- Also, it can add or cancel exam in any city if the number of applicants for that city is negligible.
- A city may have more exam centers. The address of the alloted exam center will be mentioned on UGC NET admit card.
- Candidates have to carry their admit card, one passport size photo and an original photo ID proof with its photocopy.
UGC NET 2020 Exam Pattern
UGC NET Exam is a computer based test having multiple choice questions.
- The exam has two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- Paper 1 is same and compulsory for all candidates. It tests teaching and reasoning ability, research aptitude, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper 2 is based on the subject chosen by the candidate. It tests candidate’s in depth knowledge and expertise in the respective subject.
- The combined exam duration for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 180 minutes. Candidates are free to move and attempt any paper or question in this 3 hours.
- Each question carries 2 marks and there is no negative marking in any of the papers.

UGC NET 2020 Answer Key
NTA will release UGC NET Answer Keys along with candidates’ response sheets and question papers for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 on June 24, 2020 at the official website.
- Candidates can match their recorded responses and the answer keys and estimate their scores.
- Candidates will be able to raise objections online by paying a fees of INR 1000 per question till June 27, 2020.
- The fees is refundable if the objections are approved by the agency.

- It is declared in the form of a scorecard containing marks obtained in both papers for JRF and LS.

Opportunities after UGC NET 2020
- Those who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject.
- The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work.
- For Assistant Professor, the number of candidates to be qualified (total slots) will be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers of NET.
