NEET Registration process commenced from December 2, 2019 and ended on January 6, 2020. Candidates were able to submit their application fees until 11:50 pm on January 7. Applicants have the opportunity to edit/remove any discrepancies in their applicantion form during the application form correction window from January 15 – January 31, 2020. Only applicants who have submitted their applicants forms correctly will recieve their NEET Admit Cards on March 27, 2020.

From the year 2020, NEET will be the common exam for all medical aspirants, this will also apply to AIIMS and JIPMER. NTA has also taken measures to increase transparency and curb malpractices in the entire process. From this year onwards, candidates have to upload scanned images of their postcard size photograph, left-hand thumb impression, class X pass certificate in addition to their passport size pictures and signature. Candidates have to give their XII board roll numbers while filling the application form for NEET 2020.
- There are no changes in NEET 2020 Exam Pattern. It will be conducted in pen-paper mode.
- Candidates will be able to download the NEET 2020 provisional answer key by the last week of May, 2020.
- Admissions to medical courses such as AYUSH will also be done on the basis of NEET 2020 score.
- General – EWS Quota will be applicable in medical admissions through NEET 2020.
- Result for NEET 2020 will be out by June 4, 2020.
- As per media reports, candidates might be asked to upload a ‘live photo’ from the exam center for the verification process.

NEET is a national level exam held for MBBS/BDS admissions after class 12. In 2019, around 15 lakh candidates applied for the medical exam which is expected to rise this year. NEET is conducted once a year and is the most important medical entrance examination in the country.

NEET 2020 Changes by NTA
Some key changes have been observed in NEET 2020. Some of these changes have been introduced to curb issues like impersonation and other malpractices with respect to the candidate verification process. Here’s a brief of the changes introduced by NTA:
- NEET UG Replaces AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER: With AIIMS and JIPMER admissions also brought under NEET, NEET 2020 is the only medical entrance examination for all candidates who wish to apply for MBBS or BDS Courses in the country.
- Application Fee Increased: Application Fee for NEET 2020 has been increased. The fees for this year for various categories is tabulated below:

Whereas, last year the application fee was INR 1400 for General category and INR 750 for SC/ST/OBC and Transgender candidates.
- Uploading of Scanned Images: Till last year candidates had to upload a scanned image of their photograph and signature only. From this year onwards, candidates have to upload their postcard size photograph, left-hand thumb impression and class X passing certificate as well.
- Exam Centers: This year, the exam will be conducted in 155 cities including Ladakh, the latest entry in the list of NEET exam centers.
- Self-declaration Mandatory for Ladakh and Kashmir candidates: Aspirants from Kashmir and Ladakh need to fill in the form of self-declaration for seat allotment under AIQ.

As per NTA, candidates willing to appear in NEET 2020 should qualify the eligibility mentioned below.
- Age Limit – Candidates must attain 17 years of age by December 31, 2020 to sit for NEET 2020. There is no upper age limit for NEET 2020 as per an interim order of the Supreme Court. However, the candidature of aspirants more than 25 years of age is subject to the Supreme Courts' orders.
- Educational Qualification – Candidates who have completed or appearing in class 12th with minimum 5 subjects including English, Chemistry, Physics as compulsory subjects can apply. Candidates of distance learning or private students and those who have biology as an additional subject are also eligible for the exam.
- Minimum Percentage Required – General candidates should score a minimum 50%, general PwD – 45%, OBC/SC/ST – 45% and OBC/SC/ST PWD – 40%.
- Number of Attempts – There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET 2020. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want.
NEET 2020 Application Form is available at the official website from December 2, 2019 – January 6, 2020. Documents and other details that you need to fill the application form are:
- Applicant’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, address, date of birth, mobile number, email id
- Scanned copies of Class X passing certificate, left-hand thumb impression, passport size photograph, postcard size photograph and signature in the given size and format.
- Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits), Class XII Roll Number, Election Card (EPIC No.), Ration Card No., Bank Account Passbook with Photograph, Passport Number or Number of any other Photo Identity Card issued by Government

NEET 2020 Application fee
NEET 2020 Application fee can be paid through the online mode only by using UPI App/ Debit card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ E-wallet. Service/processing charges per transaction & GST (applicable @18%) have to be paid by the candidate.The NEET 2020 Application Fee for various categories is tabulated below:

What to do if the fee payment status is not ‘OK’?
If the fee is paid online and the status is not ‘OK’, it indicates that the transaction is canceled. In such cases, the candidates have to pay the fees again and ensure the ‘OK’ status. Any additional deducted amount will be automatically refunded to the source account after the last date of online submission of Application form.
NEET Application Form Correction
Candidates can make changes in their NEET 2020 Application forms using the form correction facility which shall open from January 15 – January 31, 2020. Candidates can access their forms by logging in to their accounts at the official website of NTA. Only successfully registered candidates can avail this facility.
In addition to the scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature, candidates also have to upload their left-hand thumb impression, postcard size photograph and class X passing certificate. The details of the scanned images to be uploaded are as follows:

The 10% Economically Weaker Section reservation will be applicable in NEET 2020. To avail this reservation applicants have to mark themselves as EWS while filling the category column in NEET Application Form. The revised reservation criteria is mentioned below:

NEET 2020 Admit Card
- Admit Cards for NEET 2020 shall be released online on March 27, 2020.
- Candidates can download their NEET Admit Cards by logging in to their accounts.
- A candidate will not be allowed to enter the exam center without NEET 2020 Admit Card.
- During the examination, the invigilator shall cross-check the identity of the candidate through the admit card. The invigilator will then put his signature in the space provided in the answer sheet and attendance sheet.
- Candidates should know that NEET Admit cards will not be sent to the candidates via post, and will only be available in online mode.
- NEET 2020 admit card will contain details like candidate’s name, exam date, time, exam center details, candidate’s DOB etc.
- In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate as visible in the admit card, candidates must approach the helpline between 10.00 am to 5.00 pm between March 27, 2020 to April 10, 2020. NTA will take measures to rectify the records later, meanwhile, the candidate can appear in the exam with the already downloaded admit card.
NEET 2020 Exam Pattern
- NTA determines the NEET Exam Pattern with the aim of shortlisting the most deserving candidates for medical courses.
- Exam mode and duration: The exam is conducted in offline mode for a duration of 3 hours.
- Candidates are given a question paper, and they have to mark their responses in the provided OMR sheet.
- For an organized planning to ace the exam, candidates should be aware of the accurate pattern. NEET 2020 will be held in pen and paper mode. Exam Pattern details for the exam are tabulated below:
