Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) is a young Deemed-to-be- University proud of its modernity and yet firmly entrenched in rich educational heritage and ethos. This Deemed University was established in the year 2008 and ever since has been ceaselessly striving to excel in Academics, Research, Patient care and Extension services-all done with a view to serving the society.

Infusing passion and enthusiasm into the minds of the avid students and nurturing their achievements in order to optimise potentials is our tenet.  At SBV, reinforcing and augmenting theoretical knowledge gained by the taught during didactic lectures with evidence based practice,skills and research is the forte. Patient care as a top priority continues to attract the attention of the stakeholders. Serving the underserved and underprivileged patients epitomises SBV, where patient care in the broad specialties and super specialties are enabled with the spontaneous and committed support of the auxiliary health care personnel.

The Deemed University’s constituent colleges include two Medical Colleges, one Dental College, two Nursing Colleges, a School of Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences and Advanced Research Institute. The regulatory coursesare all duly recognised by the respective statutory bodies,viz., Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India ,Indian Nursing Council an Pharmacy Council. Whereas, innovative curricula synonymous with academic flexibility is promulgated in value added courses under the purview of Allied Health Sciences.

The visibility of SBV is enhanced by the A Grade conferred on it by NAAC. SBV has been successively ranked among the top 100 in Indian Universities, based on the India rankings, released by NIRF for the years 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively. Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute(MGMCRI), a constituent and flagship college of SBV was ranked among the top 25 medical colleges in the country, as per NIRF India rankings 2018. MGMCRI also has received entry level pre-accreditation from NABH.

SBV has been recognised as a Scientifc and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. The Medical Simulation Centre housed in the Main campus has got the approbation of American Heart Association (AHA) to function as an International training Centre. The School of Biological Sciencesis a unique and recent concept that would eventually integrate biological sciences with medical sciences. The exclusive Mahatma Gandhi Medical Advanced Research Institute is poised to create newer vistas in higher education.

The medical Graduates of SBV are eligible to register with any state council or pursue further education in any part of India. Furthermore, SBV ensures that its programs and courses are recognised internationally, by registering under appropriate provisions of various statutory and registration authorities around the world to enable its graduates the right to qualify for practice in any nation, including appearing for USMLE, (USA) PLAB, MRCP/MRCS/etc (UK), MCCQE (Canada), AMC (Australia),CGFNS/NCLEX (Nursing, USA) etc.

The alumni in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences are also proud of their alma materandgive a creditable account of themselvesin their chosen disciplines and are recognised for their professional conduct and calibre worldwide.

Yet another unique feature of SBV is its continuous, sincere efforts taken towards integrating the core services with value added endeavours. Besides Medical Simulation Centre-Central Inter-disciplinary Research Facility, Centre For Health Professions education, Centre For Music Therapy Education and Research and Centre For Yoga Therapy Education and Research augment the qualitative and quantitative output of the constituent colleges. The state-of-the-art Cadaver lab christened as ASTRA located at the Off campus further enhances the visibility of SBV.

SBV is a research oriented deemed university and allocates considerable resources and promotes investment towards need and value based Biomedical Research. In recent years, the Deemed University’s research output has been consistently high in quality and impact as evident from its rapidly evolving research publications records. It is not an exaggeration to opine that the cutting edge research and innovation at SBV inspires the teachers and the taughtalike. SBV stands out especially in the realms of Undergraduate scientific research, a matter ofimmense  pride and gratification, besides the fact that it is worthy of adulation. Totally oriented towards quality in high fidelity research, SBV has an exclusive Deanery for Research headed by an eminent medical researcher. Activities related to intellectual property including copyrights, Patents and Technology transfer are in place, besides robust start up policy driven endeavours. The presence of a top notch professional as the Vice-President of Research, Innovation and Development at the helm of affairs says it all.

In its decennial year, SBV wholeheartedly reaffirms to  striveceaselessly in order to break new grounds, explore newer vistas, push the boundaries and overcome barriers in every endeavour that it undertakes, be it academics, patient care, research or consultancy and extension services.
