Harcourt Butler Technological Institute is a deemed university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the prestigious institutes in India. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). Harcourt Butler Technological Institute is awarded the “National B-School Award” as Best Engineering College in the year 2011, 2012 and 2013 by ABP News. The institute is spread across two campuses, the east campus (77 acres) and the west campus (271 acres) 3 km apart. 

HBTU Kanpur Courses

Harcourt Butler Technological Institute offers Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) at the undergraduate level in various disciplines such as Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Food Technology, Oil Technology, and Plastic Technology. The duration of the B.Tech program is 4 years.

The institute also offers M.Tech, MBA, and MCA at the postgraduate level. It runs M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, etc. The duration of M.Tech and MBA programs is 2 years while MCA consists of 3 years of duration. In addition to this, HBTU also provides Ph.D. in various disciplines.  

HBTU Kanpur Admission

HBTU Admission is done through online as well as offline mode. Candidates who wish to apply can submit the application form on the official website of the institute. They can also download the same from the institute’s website. Applicants who will successfully qualify the complete eligibility criteria prescribed by the institute are only eligible to apply for Admission to HBTU.

HBTU Kanpur B.Tech Eligibility

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is 4 years undergraduate degree program. The minimum eligibility to apply for B.Tech is 10+2 in science stream with at least 50% marks. The selection of candidates is done through JEE Main/ UPSEE score. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks are only called for the documents verification process.

HBTU Kanpur  M.Tech Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to the M.Tech program in Harcourt Butler Technological Institute students should have BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant discipline with 50% aggregate marks. Admission is done on the basis of a written exam followed by a centralized counseling process. Students having a valid GATE score will get preference.

HBTU Kanpur Ph.D. Eligibility

Students having a master’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university or institute are only eligible to apply for the Ph.D. program. The selection criteria consist of written test and interview round. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks are called for interview. The final selection is done through the overall performance of the candidate.

The institute has a separate placement cell that conducts the complete recruitment process. It has a great placement record.
